Work pants
I’m a bit tired of wearing denim to work. I sweat profusely in the heat so I want something cool. I also am not easy on work clothes. Paint will be splashed on them, I can frequently be found working under a truck in the garage not always with a creeper. I’ve worn denim my whole life so what do you guys like?

I like the blue work pants from uniform companies like Cintas. 65/35 Poly/cotton. Light, not hot. Get rained on dries quick. And I have so many pair, if I ruin one I just throw it away. Not real durable.

As one who has worn Jeans a lot, take a look at these:

^ light, breathable and cool in the summer. Pretty durable as well. Stretchy too, but not in a bad way. And for $30 or so, not bad.

5:11 makes some durable pants as well. A little more expensive than the $30 Wranglers, pockets are abundant, there’s one with a breathable inseam, not bad on hot, humid days.

Then there’s your regular, good old BDU / Fatigue pants. Proper makes a good set of pants. Baggy, breathable, they come in different colors, and if you get the camouflage ones, ya can’t really see grease/oil/dirt stains.

My local Tractor Supply had some work pants that I bought to wear in my woodshop. They're brown and look like the pants made by Carhartt. I forget the name, but they were $25 a pair and have held up very well.

I went with Tru-Spec Xpedition. Cool, comfortable, slight stretch, zippered venting panels for added cool, reinforced knees and butt. They are a little pricey, for daily work wear, at full price but do go on sale a couple times a year. Last 2 pair I bought were $26.99.
