I'm registered as a D. Here in KY many of the elections are decided by the primary. The R party often doesn't even field a candidate. If you want a voice, you've got to vote in the primary.

Keep in mind there is no connection between who you vote for in the primary and then the general election. Its not all done to sabotage the election. You just want the best candidate from each party. Or not.

That said, I voted for Hillary in the 2016 primary. My wife heard me say that and almost choked. Didn't matter to me, or to Obama who had already sewed up the nomination. It just made him look a bit weaker, a good thing. So along came the General, and Trump took a huge lead here. Because of my registration, I couldn't vote for Trump. That'll happen again when we have the primary.

Its no worse than my communist mother, now 99. In the last election she voted absentee because she wanted to vote for the woman so badly. She voted as soon as she got her ballot because she was afraid she'd die and the hated Trump might get elected. Too bad, and I'd guess she'll vote early and for the woman again, at least if one is nominated. She spent a lot of years keeping her commie feelings to herself to maintain peace in the family with my sensible father.

So the only people who think I'm wrong are the other commies (anti Trumpers). So I don't care.

I'd debating between Bernie and Biden for the primary next week. Give Bernie numbers or keep Biden alive to continue the mess. Probably vote Biden to keep the waters muddied for longer.

No commitment other than to that primary ballot and being put on a “list” as having declared. My thought is I can be one more vote for Bernie to add to that shitshow.

Of course I expect they will then also waste money on me by sending me a bunch of shirt to toss in the recycle bin.

Thoughts?
Go ahead. I like the idea.

I am neither. I am an applicant for membership currently. The District Chair is vacant though, and I have offered to stand for it.

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

Best thing for us is if Bernie outright wins the nomination on the first ballot. Dhims can't win with him at the top of the ticket and they know it. In a debate, DJT would make Bern look like the clown he is. A muddied or brokered convention will likely hand the nomination (once the appropriate palms are greased) to Bloomturd. And the media would go out of their way to paint him (falsely) as a 'moderate'. They'd carry his water almost as hard as they did for OZero. They wouldn't publicly knob the guy as they did OZippy, but they'd do everything to ease his ride in the campaign.

But watching DJT in a debate with Bern would be pure comedy gold. Only one better would be if Biden wins the nomination. DJT would be confident while Biden stares and drools on himself.

Same here. My Committeeman is retiring and I will be on the August ballot for the position.

We can vote in any primary in Virginia.

The RPV (Republican Party of Virginia) has decided to NOT have a primary this year. That makes sense, as it's a forgone conclusion that Donald Trump is the nominee.

The topic of being a "guerrilla voter" in the Democrat primary came up last night at the meeting of the Loudoun Country Republican Committee. The take-away I got from it was that if you are "card carrying" member of the Republican Party, voting in the Democrat primary is not a good idea. I'm not sure if there are legal ramifications, but it was just taken as bad form for a party member to be seen as acting mischievously (my words, not theirs).

I read somewhere, may have been on Sigforum, that if you vote in the Dem primary, you cannot be a delegate for a Republican Delegate or Senator,

as in vote for Bern, and you cannot vote in the Repub nomination process for someone to run against a D delegate or Warner or ??

Rather than voting for a democRat in the Primary, even though I'll be voting for President Trump in November....

I'm thinking about voting for the only candidate I actually know personally.

Jacob Hornberger
Libertarian for President

Of course I'll still be voting for President Trump in November when it matters.

There’s No GOP Primary In South Carolina — But Some Republicans Will Vote Anyway

some conservative activists, eager to unearth any political advantage, are encouraging Republicans to vote this weekend anyway — for a Democrat.

If they can stomach it, backers said, Republicans should take advantage of South Carolina’s open primary system, which allows voters to cast a ballot without registering with a party. Multiple organized efforts are underway, with one going so far as to quote-unquote endorse Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont, who state polls show is closely trailing former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr…

But they said they were motivated by a larger mission: For years, conservative activists have sought to close South Carolina’s open primaries, and this election offered ideal circumstances for creating a live demonstration of the flaws they see in the system.

“We were also looking for a way to get Democrats to support the cause of closing the primary,” said Christopher Sullivan, a longtime critic of the open primary and leader of the Conservative Defense Fund, a small advocacy outfit in South Carolina. “And this is a way of showing them what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.”

Washington has open primaries, I got a ballot for both primaries.

I'm trying to figure out who I could vote for that would help to prolong the agony of the leftists. I'm thinking Biden or Bloomberg.

No. I'd be afraid someone might think I am one.

^^ THIS ^^

Texas has an open primary on Super Tuesday. Including delegate counts from SC, I’m voting for whomever is in 3rd in delegate count. I think whomever is in 3rd is likely to campaign dirtier than whomever is in 2nd and I want to see them mortally wound each other’s campaigns during the primaries. Kind of hoping it’s Liawatha Fauxahantas because ‘ole Lizzy has seemed rather angry and nasty lately.

But have you noticed that it's all directed at Bloomberg?
Lizzy is smart. She knows she can't win. She wants to take out Bloomberg because she thinks she can become Bernie's running mate. She's angling for VP.

I did that once, in Wisconsin. I voted in the primary for Russ Feingold figuring Bob Kasten, the incumbent Republican, would easily beat Feingold.
