I am in Washington and I can predict with near definite certainty where my States electoral college votes are going. While I will definitely be voting to reelect President Trump, I am toying with the idea of “declaring” as a “D” for the Presidential Primary ballot we do in March.

No commitment other than to that primary ballot and being put on a “list” as having declared. My thought is I can be one more vote for Bernie to add to that shitshow.

Of course I expect they will then also waste money on me by sending me a bunch of shirt to toss in the recycle bin.

Thoughts?

Interesting question. In Colorado registered “Independents” get ballots for both Republican and Democrat primary candidates. If I had gotten a D ballot, I would have been tempted to vote for someone like Booker. I don’t know whose idea it was to require giving ballots for both to Independents, but I can’t help but wonder how many other people would vote for some Bozo and how that might affect the final outcome.

We can vote in any primary in Virginia.

What you suggest is a valid tactic of political gamesmanship and legit. Much better than harvesting votes (like one party does in LA), having dead people vote (like that party does in Chicago), registering illegal aliens to vote (like that party did for 400 voters in Arlington, VA), etc.

But I can’t bring myself to vote for a communist. I’d rather cut my arm off.

I thought about doing that but I don't think I could stand the taste of the bile left in my mouth. Eek

I really don't like the idea of having to declare whether I'm voting GOP or Dem on the front of the envelope. The election committee won't even open my ballot because Trump is the only option for the GOP.

The folks in the western parts of your State, and those in Oregon, are more than fed up with the “coastal utopians” that dominate them. Secession movements are openly being discussed.

I know it’s way early to make such predictions, but I wouldn’t necessarily say that. In the end, I think Trump will win more popular votes and Electoral College votes than anyone thinks.

My guess is that Trump will win 45 out of 50 States (California, Illinois, New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts being in the loss column).

Agreed, voting that way in the “real” election would be distasteful, but in the primary I figure why not play a little fuck-fuck with the other side? Not like I am really supporting him. He is probably going to take WA anyway as he did in 2016 via the caucus’.

I think if he were to get the nomination (although I expect the DNC would never let that happen) he would be the worst possible candidate to put up against Trump.

I would love to see WA go for trump, but the Pierce/King/Snohomish Co retardation is strong and they have the numbers. Evidently “we” also jumped in with the “Give the electoral votes to the national popular vote winner” scam, but I am sure they will quickly change course should the national popular vote go “R”.

Gonna be a fun build up to Novemember, hold onto your (MAGA) hats!

I am doing it in Ohio... Me and the wife both.

Going to vote for whomever is polling second when the time comes. Will have to see if that strategy is valid on the date of the vote... may have to vote for the frontrunner if they are particularly weak against Trump.

I am only doing to the dems what they have done many times in the past in Ohio primaries...

I will have to declare myself as a democrat when I walk in and my affiliation will officially change for that event, but I will change it quickly back to republican after my vote.

The RPV (Republican Party of Virginia) has decided to NOT have a primary this year. That makes sense, as it's a forgone conclusion that Donald Trump is the nominee.

The topic of being a "guerrilla voter" in the Democrat primary came up last night at the meeting of the Loudoun Country Republican Committee. The take-away I got from it was that if you are "card carrying" member of the Republican Party, voting in the Democrat primary is not a good idea. I'm not sure if there are legal ramifications, but it was just taken as bad form for a party member to be seen as acting mischievously (my words, not theirs).

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.

I’ve never declared as any party before. Always considered myself an “independent”. In almost 30 years of voting, never once voted D though.

Can’t say I’ve always voted R. I’ve voted Libertarian a time or two in state or local elections and then there was Ross Perot...

Declaring D for the primary and then voting Trump in general would make me a “Democrats for Trump” voter and skew those numbers too Wink

My household is a voting block of 4, and we always vote together.

fpuhan: Are you a Committeeman (that's what we call them), or a District Chairman (I think you call them)?

I voted for Bernie last week.

I think a Bloomberg/Kobluchar ticket is probably their best chance in November, so I voted for Bernie because I believe he has the best chance of spoiling that.
