I have to agree. Park a restored and well-maintained E-Type next to a new Jaguar, and the E-Type will get all of the looks.

“What's the greatest car ever produced by British factories? It's a hot debate, usually battled out by enthusiasts with their own classics parked in the garage.

Recently the discussion was carried out online by classic car owners who were asked to vote for their top choice British model, with the Jaguar E-Type coming out on top in the poll.

While the E-Type's win comes as little surprise, we were surprised to see the Mini down in third place.”

E Type is definitely on the list. I think Lotus had one or two beauties, maybe the ‘87 Esprit?

It’s one of the first cars to come to my mind when someone says best British car ever. One of my neighbors had one sitting in his yard rotting away for decades. He put up a bunch of cypress trees across his yard blocking the view of the Jag. I wonder if it’s still there? Probably not...I am sure I wasn’t the only person who noticed it.

Surprised not to see a Rolls or Bentley in the top 10.

The E-Type is a beautiful car. I remember building a 1/8th (if I remember correctly) model of a red E-Type. It didn't survive my younger sister.

A blower Bentley is so far superior to the E Type, there's no credibility to the list.

I would take a Bentley Continental R from the 90s over any other British car personally. That car is gorgeous.

Yeah, but what Bond fan wouldn't vote for the Aston Martin?

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

...Bentley Continental R...

Nice call, though I prefer the SWB Conti T a smidge more (let's see if I remember how to do this from one of my favorite YT channels...)

I took a very memorable ride in an e-type roadster one time. At one point, on an exit ramp, we were in a four-wheel drift. I never felt for a moment that the car was going to break loose and leave the road.

I suppose someone has to point out that no less an authority than Enzo Ferrari declared the e-type Jag “the most beautiful car ever made.”

I’ve ridden in an Austin Healy 3000 too. Can’t say it was all that remarkable to me.

IMHO the E type is one of THE most beautiful cars ever produced. Thank God I had a friend who owned one and I have probably 3 or 4 hours of driver time in one.

When the LOTTO gets to some crazy hundreds of millions figure and one buys a ticket, just in case. Then you IMAGINE what you'd actually DO with a few hundred million...I ALWAYS have getting a restored E type convertible come up.

The E type is a beauty. I'd love the "Bond" Aston Martin though.

The E-Type is fantastic! When I was shooting in a NRA Action Shooting League back in Louisville KY in 1986, there was an attorney that had a XJ-S Convertible. Since then I've always wanted a Jag XJS.

I showed her this list and she said - "Well you got the third best". I do like my Mini, but if I win the big one...

Best looking, very likely. Best overall? I've never driven one, so I don't know.

I did drive an XK-8. That I liked. And the XK-8 shares the XK-E's looks.

My vote would go to the car created by Sir Alex Issigonis (his knighthood was a result): The Mini.

No, it isn't expensive (neither was the VW, which in its own way compares), it doesn't have the lines and curves of the E-Type, the DB, and others, but it was sexy in its own way, and became so ubiquitous that it was made by companies all over the world: Italy, Brasil, Japan, and even two in the U.K. (Austin and Morris).

My first car was a 1960 Mini. A great and often pleasantly surprising car!

You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless.
