So far, I’m in the middle of my 4th week on Keto and things are going very well. I’m keeping to about 1900 calories a day and about 20 to 30 grams of carbs with about 130 to 150 grams of protein.

I’m down 25 pounds so far and things are going well. I’m down to 255 pounds which I haven’t been since about 2011. At first, I was going to target 225 pounds as my target weight, but looking at how much fat I have to lose, I think 200 pounds is a better target weight.

So far, my pants and shorts are fitting loose and all my shirts in my closet fit now. I can move on from the four shirts I had in rotation for the past 2 years and actually have some variety!

I believe all the weight has come off my lower body and my neck and face. The inflammation in my calves and my feet have reduced drastically and my shoes even fit looser. My daily energy is much better and I feel less fatigued.

I just walked 7 miles at Busch Gardens with my son and I’m nowhere near the pain level I would have normally experienced in such an outing. All the roller coasters restraints fit way better than before.

I’m looking forward to the next 25 pounds!

Tony.

Excellent work, and we're getting into better walking and exercise weather, for now mid 80's temps at the height of the day, but early AM it's 70's sometimes 60's. So no "it's too hot" excuses LOL

Yep, it starts to feel like some kind of superpower. More energy, better sleeps and not feeling hungry. 7 years in and it's constantly evolving. I haven't tracked my ketones or glucose but recently put new batteries in the ketomojo to where I am these days. There's a lot more wearable tech these day. Find a good source of Potassium, magnesium, and sodium to avoid those keto flu symptoms.

That's interesting. I did keto for a month a few years back. <25g carbs/day. I lost 20 pounds and where I noticed it most was in the neck and face as well.

Excellent!
My only hiccup was a bit of the KETO Flu @ 6 weeks.
Fixed by taking on more electrolytes.
Been on 2.5 years now.
Life saver.

So congrats and keep it up.

I’m good with cramps and keto flu so far. I’m taking a potassium supplement and I make a homemade electrolyte drink with baking soda, potassium, pink Himalayan salt, and epsom salt. I drink a glass of that a day. I’m also eating a lot of leafy greens with at least one meal. Spinach, kale, arugula, etc… Last night I made chicken fajitas with sautéed 3-color bell peppers.

Stopped by Longhorn after we finished with Busch Gardens and had their lunch menu 1/2 pound bacon cheeseburger. Ordered it bunless and replaced the fries with broccoli. It was a great meal! Eating chicken fajitas tonight with some leftover cast-iron brussel sprouts with bacon bits.

Wait till you can actually exercise. Around 225 you’ll be able to exercise and weight won’t hurt your joints so much.

Keto is not the panacea of weight loss, use it to get to a healthy weight. Adopt good habits that you accept as a new way of life. Smaller portions, healthier foods, fresh foods over processed. Everything in moderation.

Good luck. I lost 70 lbs some while sick but most though good dieting and exercise. It takes work to stay at a healthy weight.

I’ve been on Keto since the beginning of June. At first I was strict in keeping carbs below 30, weighing and tracking everything I ate and drank.

I’m down 42 pounds and am off my BP med and my 1 other med I took daily after having my gallbladder removed. That is without exercise - now that I have cut weight I can start jogging agin when it gets cool. I’ve got 11 pounds to go.

I can sustain this long term and plan on staying on it. I do have 1 cheat day per month.

The first two weeks were a little rough but I am used to it now. The only trouble was helping people with hurricane recovery in the South Texas heat. Lack of electrolytes was tough, it took some time to get the correct minerals.

When I get deep into ketosis, it's very hard to complete my normal gym workout. Everything feels 20 lbs. heavier. I'll take it, but I need half a granola bar before I go and even then it's not easy. I binged on keto starting last March and abandoned it when I got on a plane to Germany, planning to indulge in great beer and bread for my vacation. I walked and hiked so much, I didn't really gain anything back. But I've been lazy about it since returning and I need to get more serious.
