OLD THREAD ALERT

I got a newer Windows 11 PC and would like to migrate over the data and pictures from the old Windows 10 PC.
I think there's a way to do it over wi-fi but I'm not sure about how...
Any advice would be helpful.
Thanks.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

The age old USB or external HDD would be best, it creates a full copy of your data in an external storage location.

You can then copy to the new PC, and, keep the external as a backup.

You can also get external drive enclosures for SSD or spinning disk HDD and move the old drive to the enclosure and use it as your data transfer via USB, then convert it to a backup drive

Don't do WiFi.

As Star Wars says -- "Use the CLOUD, Luke."

OK, maybe that's not exactly what Yoda said. But, my goodness, have your files in the cloud, and access them in the cloud. So much simpler.

If you don't want cloud storage, then external drive and wired connection is the only easy way.

Well, ok then.
Buy Macs, use Time Machine to keep a current back, then just restore to the new computer.

Can I use a yellow ethernet wired connection from the old machine to the new machine?

I would go for an external HDD as well if you don't have one. You can use it as a back up drive, chelim 1. It doesn't appear you have one currently anyway.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

I believe this is what wrightd referred to back on the first page.

Rey has it correct. A HHD or SSD in an enclosure with a USB cable is very simple - copy and paste. The "easiest way".

I went w/ a 2TB USB HHD and it's just 'drag and drop.' Have most of my music backed up on there too.
This one. They've sold a couple of these.
