What Gun(s) do you most regret selling?
When I was young and dumb, I bought a TON of guns, but also sold a ton of guns. The two I most miss are my NIB, unfired, P210-6, and my NIB unfired 8" blue Python. I sold them because I couldn't bring myself to shoot them, and I also wasn't a "collector". Now, I wish I had them to actually shoot. I'm trying to find pictures.

Is there a gun you regret selling?

Sorry for the poor picture quality, this is from the era of the potato being the standard camera on a phone

No.

I've sold/traded more than I own and don't regret any of them. If it doesn't work for me or I don't use it, it's gone.

My grandfather's 1960s Marlin 336RC .30-30.

Tight on cash about 10 years ago, and got hit with some medical expenses. Had to sell nearly all of my (rather meager at the time) gun collection. Didn't really mind selling the others, and those have mostly all been replaced many times over since. But that one hurt.

Yeah, a Remington 700 BDL 30-06 with a gorgeous stock that would shoot cloverleaf groups at a 100 yds with a tailor-made hand load. That gun put a lot of meat in the freezer in the 70's and early 80's.

All the others that I sold or traded, I'm okay with.

Jim

I had to do that a couple years ago when I started my business.. it definitely hurt. At one point I was down to the Kimber 1911 my wife and best friend got together on and bought me for my birthday a few years back, and a glock 19 I carried daily.

Only two, both Colts. A 6" blue Python, and a Satin Nickle Combat Commander. That Commander was the sweetest shooting pistol I've ever owned, and even though I could never find a set of grips for the Python that fit me, the damn thing is a collector's item now. Mad

I've only sold 2 so far. A M&P Shield in 9mm and and my first SIG, a P220R. I upgraded from the Shield to a P938 and upgraded the P220R to a P220 Carry SAS 2. No regrets for either. Big Grin

I don't really sell my guns or have much of a regret.
However, I kinda liked the Walther PPKS I had but it was a terrible gun Eek but very sexy.
I traded it in on a HK Tac 45 which I love.
Otherwise mostly a one-way street for my firearms.

H&K P7. A really great pistol.

My problem was that it was too different from my SIGs and I had to stop and think about which gun I was shooting. That kind of defeats the purpose of defensive carry.

I bought a Sig P220 SS with all kinds of custom work, including the trigger, here on the Forum.
I was far too hasty in selling it because of the trigger.

In the 80's I had a current production Mannlicher SL rifle. Their shortest, smallest action made for the .222 ctgs.

Mine was a full stock carbine, in .222 Rem mag, double set triggers, beautiful bluing and nicely grained walnut. And...it shot well under an inch with my 55 gr reloads. Had a 2.5-8X Leupold in Buehler rings/mounts.

THE rifle I never should have sold.

Not shooting guns but simply collecting them should (almost) be illegal.

There are fewer more egregiously pointless wastes than such things.

Ugh. The downsides of freedom, so to speak. People are weird, sometimes.

That said, I do regret selling a couple of particular 1911s.

Toss-up between my SW1911, my first 1911 and an early "billboard" model that was tweaked by S&W's PC Dept. and had the trigger and accuracy to match my Baer, and my PC945 4" model, that had the balance and 945 grip diameter that fit my hand like no other gun before or since.

None. I've never sold one. Or traded any away.

Me, too!

Don't have a huge number, and only one real collectable.

That being a Winchester, model 73, made in 1901. Been in the family since it was bought new. Have made arrangements to pass it on to grandson Nate, but never to be sold or in any fashion leave the family. Last check, some years ago, it was valued at about $9000.
