PluguglyNashville Man shot and killed while filming robbery "prank"
If it was indeed a prank for YouTube, there is video of the entire event, yes?
If no video, then I suspect it was a real robbery, ended properly.

tacfoley'Pranking' seems to be a particularly American thing, especially so-called high-end or high-value pranks involving lots of people/money/'stage-aids' and so on. It's not much-heard of here in UK, TBH.
I only know of one 'prank' in the local area a few years back that went badly wrong for the pranker and his couple of pals.
A recuperating soldier, badly injured in Afghanistan, had come home for the weekend from Headley Court - a special hospital, treatment and rehab for those who were VERY seriously injured, legs blown off, that kind of thing, and was having a drink with a few of his erstwhile pals sitting outside the local riverside pub. Some wit there thought it would be really funny to remove the wheels from his wheelchair and hide them somewhere. Sadly for them, they were spotted doing so by another group of Toms. An hour or so later, having failed to get a rise out of anybody - the double-amputee and his pals had ignored them - they left the premises and went over to the car parking lot.
Their car wasn't there.
It was, however, just about visible, with the trunk showing about a foot out of the water of the river that ran alongside the pub.
'You must have left the handbrake off' the barman, an ex-Tom told them - 'you really ought to be more careful, especially with a posh car like that...'

Some might think this is more good reason for high capacity magazines...

I'm willing to bet a significant number of them - more than half - are
completely staged. The person(s) getting pranked is totally in on the "joke" and play the part of a terrorized victim.
Of course, dumb-asses watch them and get ideas they can "prank" complete strangers.
Gotta get those clicks and likes!
