Does anyone have any experience with Salt Away or Salts Gone? Lots of salt on the roads this winter and my 4Runner is coated in it. Particularly worried about the undercarriage. I used a foam cannon and hose this weekend but these look like better options?

I run my cars through the local car wash once a week. More as the temp rises and until the salt gets washed away by rain...

Good question. We use salt away on our off shore boats to remove salt including using it to flush salt from our outboard motors. Not sure why it would not work. But thinking one would want to use frequently to remove the salt. Otherwise if only doing infrequently the salt would have much time to do damage?

Here is a "how to" video from a guy who owns a detail shop in Pennsylvania and has been detailing cars professionally 20+ years. I've learned a ton from his videos over the years. He uses Eastwood Road Salt/Brine Neutralizer.

I’m a 100% Salt Away guy for all of my boats. Been using it since we saw guys in Hawaii using it in their inboard motored boats. ALL of them do so.
That being said their portioning dispenser has been terrible. 25 years I’ve replaced probably 10 but that doesn’t matter to you. I buy it by the gallon, much cheaper that way.

Just did my large SUV with Salt Off from Star Brite. Bought the kit with the hose mixer, and a qt bottle, filled the mixer bottle 3-4 times to spray the underneath, underhood and complete body, you could easily see the solution on the vehicle, let it sit for 15 min and then gave it a good wash. Plenty left over to do it again next year.

I’ve used salts gone for the last 3 years
Very happy with the amount of brine and salt residue it removes from the vehicle.

I use my friends lift, get into my rain gear and try to be as thorough as possible

IMHO it seems to be worth it

I've heard good things about fluid film, but I've never used it.
