Yep it was a good wake up shaker. And now a run on gasoline... Watched this fool filling a 25 gallon plastic container with gas in the bed of his truck. He managed to not blow himself up.

.

Just an FYI...the USGS has a website of all Earthquakes.

https://earthquake.usgs.gov/ea...22event%22%3Anull%7D

After the 5.7 earthquake, there were 15 more small quakes then a 4.4 shake which was followed by 17 more small ones.

Sick of the local news panic mongers reporting every detail of activity here in Northern Utah. It all amounts to fifty people endlessly reporting that all is well no matter how and where they look. Enough already!

When the fake report came out about about a 9.0 in the next 30 minutes, my wife called up nearly breathless. She went nuts and filled the van up with apple juice (the backseat, not the tank). I told her to calm down, there’s no way we’re getting a 9.0, and if she wants to make herself feel better, go fill all the vehicles with fuel. This was about an hour before the rush on the gas stations. A month ago, I sent her out for toilet paper two weeks ahead of the rush.

For me it was Loma Prieta, CA Bay Area, 1989. I was standing in a car dealership to buy a part, everything started shaking. I was in the far corner of the showroom, looked across the large showroom floor, the concrete had rolling waves just like watching the incoming ocean waves while standing on a sandy beach.

That's GOT to be an incredible sight to see, I've never seen anything like that. Seeing the ground propagate like an ocean wave would FREAK me out. I wonder if I could find any video of that phenomenon on the internet.

I saw the sidewalk do that during the Loma Prieta. And a large apartment building sway.

I rode out the 7.1 we had in Anchorage last year in bed. The weird feeling after the major shaking was the slow motion up and down waves.

Just reading that made me a bit queasy.

I was coming out of Embarcadero BART/Metro station when it hit...knew it was bad when the wall panels started shifting, all the rubbing created a crazy cloud of dust, then looking up as I made my way up the stairs to street-level and seeing all the office buildings swaying like trees in the wind. Upon reaching the surface, it was a different world..

I'm really glad no-one was hurt.

When the ground starts moving, all bets are off.

Been through a few 4.0 range ones. That was enough to get my attention.

I didn't know the SLC area was quake prone. Now I do.
