Didn't see this posted anywhere, so here goes. More nonsense, and this affects the Masons, Marine Corps League, and others who raise money via gun raffles. Inside Gander Outdoors a guy was selling raffle tickets to win a $2,500 custom AR-15 he had on the table there. "a" customer complaint, as in "1"? "Charities selling raffle tickets for a chance to win a firearm are no longer welcome in front of Tractor Supply. In answer to a customer complaint earlier this month, the store's corporate office banned all raffles awarding firearms as prizes." Full story here

From my experience, it's not really a firearm being raffled but rather a gift card in the amount of the cost of the firearm.

Tractor Supply stores around here, in my opinion, suck, and they don't sell firearms or ammo. I rarely go into one, they're disappointing stores in so many ways, to me. I greatly prefer Atwoods.

It's not easy being me |
I used to love Tractor Supply. They are based in Nashville (well, they moved their corporate headquarters from Nashville to Brentwood, TN awhile ago, but it's considered a suburb of Nashville). Then, our fourth child enrolled in a small Catholic University in Fort Wayne, IN. When moving her in her freshman year, we stayed at a hotel across the street from RURAL KING!! My goodness, RURAL KING puts tractor supply to shame!! They even have a gun department!! Well, even though I now have a Tractor Supply about 7 miles from my house (and three more within 20 miles), I'll travel to the closest RURAL KING, which is about 50 miles from me in Clarksville, TN, before going to a tractor supply. _______________________________________ Flammable, Inflammable, or Nonflammable....... Sadly for me, the closest RK is about 110 miles driving distance and a little over 2 hours thanks to having to go through or around D.C. But honestly, the last few (dozen) times I've been in TS, they haven't had anything close to what I wanted or needed anyway, so screw them. Just need to plan ahead a little more and get whatever it is I need online. Just filled out their contact form to let them know. (ETA: The contact form is set up for order-related issues. Just pick one and leave the order details blank, then put whatever you'd like in the open text box.) -RobThis message has been edited. I buy horse feed and dog food at TS. They have hunting gear but I have never known them to sell firearms. I have never seen a raffle for a gun nor any anti-gun sentiment there but in the past couple of weeks I have been pounced upon by Boy Scouts with their popcorn sales every time I go through the door. We have a Tractor Supply in the next town over. I stop in there if I am out and about and I have never seen guns or ammo being sold there. .....never marry a woman who is mean to your waitress.

There's a couple of TSs around here, but they sell gun safes and some hunting stuffs. They're an 'ok's store, but nothing that blows my skirt up. Now, this RK store sounds interesting. None around these here parts yet, that I'm aware of anyway. "Also I heard the voice of the Lord saying who shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, here am I, send me."

I was about to make the 2 hour round trip to the nearest Tractor Supply to purchase a $2000 lawn tractor. Guess I’ll buy one elsewhere, twice as far away. TS sure doesn’t make it easy to contact them regarding something of this nature.

This is what happens when the Left moves the culture. TS might be an outlier for one reason or another. Wally world and Dicks may be on the fringe too, but the aggregate is undeniable. The culture is fluid on this. Now is the time to answer activism and virtue signaling with activism and evangelism. You’re a lying dog-faced pony soldier

I don't go to TS very often, though I did buy a Cub Cadet there recently. I've never seen anyone running a gun raffle and our area is still pretty gun friendly. ________________________________ "Nature scares me" a quote by my friend Bob after a rough day at sea.

Do you have a Lowe's near you? They have quite a few different lawn tractors at decent prices. Not sure but I think Home Depot does as well. We discovered that Tractor Supply has higher prices for similar items. Chain saw chains, for example, cost nearly 2X what I paid at wallyworld. Thank you Very little |
We have a few TS near us, bought a gun safe there as have a few friends, the stores are clean, friendly, 2A friendly. In today's climate I can see where a company would decide to not hold a raffle for a free gun when they don't sell guns. They probably just don't want to be a visible target for the current environment of a social media attack simply because of a raffle that isn't a part of their sales product line. Heck I"ve been hit by Boy Scout popcorn at every store this weekend, and even though I support them it's annoying. I'd like to see the darn things go away, even though my wife and daughter did them to raise money when she was in dance so I get it.. If they sold ammo and or firearms and were stopping it'd be concerning, however, this is a nothing burger to be worried over...

It’s not their raffle. They’re disinviting the charitable causes who are selling raffle tickets outside of their stores.
Does the lie in their canned answer bother you at all? Tractor Supply strives to be active members of the communities in which we call home, and we seek to support causes that are central to the mission and purpose of our business as a rural lifestyle retailer. We respect America’s fundamental freedoms and take individual rights very seriously That statement is wholly incompatible with disallowing these organizations from selling raffle tickets because the prize is a gun. Other prizes okay. Guns bad. TS has every right to make whatever corporate policy it likes, even in response to the whining of a triggered SJW, but this statement is absurdly hypocritical. -Rob I predict that there will be many suggestions and statements about the law made here, and some of them will be spectacularly wrong. - jhe888 A=A
