Brass Kisses on my Sig 553P
Is there any way to get brass kisses off the ejection port? I read that CLP gun cleaner would take them off. Thanks in advance.

Copper bore cleaner.

Thanks, that sounds good. Any specific instructions?

I just dab it on there and let it work a bit, then wipe it off. Test on your finish inside the receiver first, obviously.

IPA is said to remove brass too. Given all Sig and SIG 55x variants bounce brass off the receiver, it's normal to have wear. I bought several guns new from JDI and they had eroded paint from factory test-firing.

Many people while apply a small strip of 90mi/hr tape or gaffer's tape to protect their guns. I don't.

^^^^ I agree. These normal “wear and tear” marks have zero effects on the gun’s function, plus they give it character.

Chore Boy scrub pads for pots and pans will probably scrub them right off. They are pure copper. Stay away from the copper coated ones. They are great for pushing junk out of your bore also.

That is what I have. Not brass kisses as I thought. A little touch up with black marker covered up the eroded paint.

clean it to remove any contaminants and hit it with some cold blue; it will look better longer.
