The administration has proposed $450,000 payments to each person separated from their family at the southern border (during the Trump admin). Link I think it's an important distinction though, it takes at least two people to become separated; so the real impact is at least double, if not much greater.

To put this in perspective, using net worth data from 2020, $450k would instantly put each of those affected individuals in the top quartet of wealthiest Americans! But, considering the actual payout would be closer to $1 million per family, that puts their wealth in top 10 percentile of all households.

How do you suppose the average tax paying citizen feels about that? These people have no respect for you, our economy or the country. Empires can and do fail...
