r0gueEDC Workbag
I'm looking for some ideas for a premium commute to work bag. To carry a small laptop, maybe a mouse, a small lunch, small notebook, pens, daily meds, biz cards, chapstick. That sort of stuff.
Anybody have any fav recommendations.

Rey HRHI’m into bags. Bought a whole bunch over the years: Briggs & Riley, mostly Tumis, San Francisco Messenger bag brand, Pacific, and ebags.com.
For the last year, I’ve used this slim backpack that can be used as a bag.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." ExpatI recently bought a
VERTX EDC GAMUT BACKPACK SILENCERCO EDITION for $128.00 shipped.
Gamut by
Ex Pat, on Flickr
Holds all you mentioned and my lunch inside a dry bag to avoid possible spills. Very well made and Vertx warranty. Lots of little pockets, slash pockets on sides have cloth internal pockets for suppressors. None of the pockets hold a lot, but it still makes a great work bag. Nice slim profile.
ETA: Nice grab handle on top, hidden MOLLE webbing. Great video of inside on Amazon, search Vertx Gamut 2.0, same bag.

vthokyI alternate between a
Timbuk2 Classic Messenger, and a
5.11 Covrt18 backpack.
Note: The 5.11 pack has a padded sleeve for a laptop, but there's no padding in the
bottom of the sleeve.

oddballMaxpedition makes great bags, My EDC is their Fatboy Versipack. A bit small for a laptop, but holds everything else, including a B.U.G. I never leave home without it.

sean7Have you looked at the grayman stuff?
https://www.hazard4.com/bags/grayman.htmlI have the takedown, kato, and the tanto. I love the takedown, but haven't gotten around to using the other two much yet. They were recently acquired, but look and feel good.

RHINOWSOVertex Ready Pack. Easily fits Laptop, iPad, chargers, batteries, folders, light jacket, water bottles, snacks, meds, chapstick, etc.
Can easily hold more too but it's one of my carry-ons whenever I travel or leave the house.
https://www.amazon.com/Vertx-R...ps%2C164&sr=8-2&th=1When I bought it, I compared it to the Original Vertx Gamut pack, which I bought at the same time. The Gamut is very nice (even more so now that its been improved as the 2.0), but it was too big for me for an everyday pack. I looked them both over and returned the Gamut the day after it arrived in preference to the Ready Pack.

AnubismpI've been using a Dakine Concourse and its been a solid bag so far. Holds books, lots of compartments for all you mentioned and fits a B&T APC300 when its collapsed.
Very non tactical looking to boot.

armedprofI have the Vertx sling. It is about 4 years old but looks brand new. Holds everything and then some. I really like the holster and mag holders. Ccw bag that doesn't look too tactical.

Blume9mmI have a back pack that is also a carry sort of attache bag. You can store the back pack straps inside and just carry wit the strap... I use it every day .... will hold lap top, power cord, big note book, extra glasses, P239 & spare magazine, and a number of other items... only label I can find on it is Kensington.
It's sort of like one of these except mine has a flap that comes down and covers the whole front with a big clip.

K0ZZZI've been using the previous generation of this one for years and love it.
https://fishpondusa.com/boulder-briefcase-peat-mossPlenty of logically designed pockets, looks great, definitely stands out, and has multiple ways to carry. It has the hidden backpack straps even.
