Is Serta a good mattress brand? Other recommendations ?
I just bought a new bedroom set and need a good mattress. I prefer a firm mattress and something that won't start sagging in a year like the last mattress I purchased. I'm not looking to spend a ton of money but don't want anything cheap either. Something in between would be nice. A discount store that sells over stock and discontinued items has several Serta mattresses on sale but I know nothing about mattresses so I'm asking forum members for help.

Serta makes some good mattreses. They probably also offer some kind of bad ones.

Check The Original Mattress Factory. We found them to be a straightforward, no BS, good value, mattress. Very satisfied.

Sales people are on straight salary, not commission, so no pressure to upsell.

Yes, they make very good mattresses that last. After replacing my 11 year old Serta (moved it to guest room duty and bought a king bedroom set), I looked at everything under the sun. I ended up going with a firm Serta hybrid icomfort pillow top, the hybrid has a layer of memory foam and gel and is inner spring under that. I've had it almost 2 years and love it.

I went with the Serta Recognition firm from Sears.
