Congratulations...

Modesto is Central valley farming country.

My brother lives out there and his house backs up to huge vineyards of grapes.

Her PHD is in Food Science. She worked with chocolate the first two years of her PHD and wine the remaining three years.

She accepted a position with EJ Gallo Winery and will be moving to Modesto CA (BOOooo) in June.

All degrees are from the University of Arkansas.

Oh, she is 27 years old.

Yes, I am a very proud Papa.

Please welcome her to the area. This is a conservative part of CA, but still CA. On the plus side it is a GREAT place to live if you wanna check out some of the nice places to visit such as Yosemite, Tahoe, and the undeniably beautiful central coast. And no humidity.

By all accounts Gallo treats their people well.

Congrats - that's outstanding! Nothing better than seeing your child pursue a career to become self-sufficient.

Congrats on a great accomplishment!

Modesto, like any other city in the world, has it's good and bad. I worked there briefly during my stint at the county ag department. Stanislaus County is mainly ag (hence Gallo) and there are some beautiful areas reaching into the foothills. And she's about 2-2.5 hours from Yosemite Valley.
