PoacherPaging Appliance Brad: Samsung Dryer Dead
Used on Sunday, dead on Thursday. Plugged in, cab checked and it won’t do anything. It is fourteen years old and have a guy coming this week, but is there anything I can check.
Thanks

ElToroWant some bad news ? You’re likely fooked. We bought brand new Samsung appliances when we moved into this house in June 2021. By 2023 dryer started glitching and would work intermittently and finally died just outside of warranty naturally. First finding a repairman who services Samsung was a chore. Most guys declined once we told them the brand. The one guy who came said he had never seen a good one and could replace the mother board for near the price of a new dryer. After wife fell down the rabbit hole of online Samsun dryer hate, We ended up getting a GE dryer. Samsung washer and fridge have been trouble free. They don’t make a good dryer in my opinion.

L90814If no power at all, Samsung recommends turning the circuit breaker off, unplugging the cord and inspecting for burn marks, then reconnecting and turning the breaker on after at least thirty seconds have passed. A worn breaker could also be the issue.
In my experience with a Whirlpool, after changing the belt, the dryer had power but would not run. I found a kill switch was triggered. It was under the belt pulley and designed to be triggered if the belt breaks during operation. Also, a blown thermal fuse will shut the dryer down.

PoacherI’m thinking it’s toast, but will give the unplug and breaker reset a try.

cab checked
New term to me, what does it mean?
Did you test to see if you actually have power to receptacle with a meter?

PoacherNothing comes on. Zero.
HD has spring break Black Friday, or some nonsense, so just went and bit the bullet on a pair of GE Profiles.

sourdough44I’d google your model and look into fuse issues. I’m not saying it’s it, look into other related failures. We can assume your outlet has power? Don’t laugh, it was a fix for my neighbor years ago.
Here’s one example.
https://youtu.be/XJuzr5a2z4I?is=jMBQVGZLvluxGHa6 I seldom use my dryer, let Mother Nature handle the job.
