Today it was Stagg Classic Chili with Beans on Dave’s Good Seed toasted bread. Pretty danged tasty, and nutritious too. Protein from the meat and beans and lots of fiber. I used to actually put the chili on the toast, but nowadays I take a spoonful of chili, then a bite of toast and chew both together. That works best for me. I mix black pepper and Cholula Green Pepper hot sauce into the chili. Some blueberries afterwards. Serious about crackers

Interesting, but I think I'll stick with homemade cornbread with my homemade chili. Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity DISCLAIMER: These are the author's own personal views and do not represent the views of the author's employer.

Pipe Smoker, well done, plus the little tweaks you made to the Stagg make it your own. Of course we all prefer our own, homemade, artisanal, organic, free range chili and bread, but the basics off the pantry shelf and bread box are a blessing for which to be thankful and to appreciate. Thanks for the reminder and the memory. Be well. Best regards, Nick. NRA Life Member and Certified Instructor

We like to take a kaiser roll, cut the top off and scoop out some of the bread, to make a bowl for the chili.

I like that on my scrambled eggs. I made a small batch last night, quick and easy, brown 1/2 pound of ground sirloin, some chili seasoning, can of Rotel. Only took a few minutes. That's not really Chili, not with all the fixin's, but for quick and easy to use for toppings it's good enough. Last week I made a small batch of Taco Meat for the same purpose, put on the scrambled eggs. And, you could make "Cincinnati Chili" for a change of taste. .This message has been edited. I serve canned chili on a bed of rice. I add chili powder and cayenne pepper to spice it up a little. Have you ever had a Chili Size? It's very popular in the Northeast and is essentially an open-faced double hamburger covered in chili. Most folks also add grated cheese, but of course I do not. I've even gotten one of the local Waffle Houses to make it for me. Take the grill-toasted bun and lay it open in the plate, put a hamburger patty on each, and slather it with chili. Yum! Stagg's chili? Where does one get it and what's it like? flashguy Texan by choice, not accident of birth

Reminds me I have a few cups left in my freezer of some chilli. Might need to do some chili dogs. Jesse Sic Semper Tyrannis

Wow, that reminds me, the last time I checked on chili beans, there was a huge vacant space where they were supposed to be on the store shelf.

We put chili on hash browns, sometimes with fried eggs on top. Lick the lollipop of mediocrity once and you suck forever.

Or, try chili on pasta, sort like spaghetti. One can regular chili, one can hot chili mixed.

I like the Hormel chili with no beans and I add a few shakes of Cajun Pepper sauce to it. Piled on a hamburger patty with cheddar cheese and chopped onions. YUM. Jim ________________________ "If you can't be a good example, then you'll have to be a horrible warning" -Catherine Aird

That is the Cincinatti variant, but their chili is oddly spiced. It is not bad, but very different. They don't adulterate it with beans, so there is that. The fish is mute, expressionless. The fish doesn't think because the fish knows everything.

Yes, Cincinnati type uses a spice that I find unpleasant in chili. Cloves? Cinnamon? I don't remember, it's been a long time since I had any. הרחפת שלי מלאה בצלופחים

Never had any Cincinnati chili, so I can't comment on its flavor. I usually use Dennison's.
