911BossCostco deal on Greenworks electric chainsaw…
There have been a few different threads on electric chainsaws, just thought I’d share Costco.com has a deal going on the GW 18”, 80v 4AH battery and two replacement chains for $299+tax delivered ($100 off).
I’d been going back and forth between Ego 56v and Greenworks. I already have a few Ego tools, but this seems like a good deal. The 16” Ego I was looking at was $379.

Phantom229I’m waiting for their lawnmower to go on clearance at the end of the season.
Situation awareness is defined as a continuous extraction of environmental information, integration of this information with previous knowledge to form a coherent mental picture in directing further perception and anticipating future events. Simply put, situational awareness mean knowing what is going on around you. April 13, 2023, 06:30 PM
old dino911Boss ... I have a bunch of Ego products including the chainsaw. Since you have a few Ego tools, why not just get the bare tool Ego (without battery and charger) for $239 ?

Two of them are battery operated another one is corded electric.
He takes turn show the optimal applications.

I’m going back and forth on that. I love Costco satisfaction policy and it has 4 year warranty on the tool/battery. Looks like replacement chains are about $20/ea so it is almost on par with Ego tool only.
Also, 4AH 80v battery is going to give more run time/power than my Ego 3AH 56v batteries. Also I am taking into account that my current b arteries are all about 6-7 years old, so might be needing new battery regardless.
Haven’t made my final decision yet, reviews on booth seem to be about equal.

Blume9mmAn 80 volt battery? that is crazy... when are they going to come out with the 120?
but it sounds like it is still 4 amp hours ... which in my experience with 18volts is not really that much for a heavy use tool... but then it could be like my Milwaukee weed eater.... I've got a 8 or 9 Amp hour battery for it and when it finally stops ... it's time for me to stop also.

4 Amp hours at 56v is is “less” power than 4ah at 80v. “Power” (watts) = current (amps) X voltage
So 4ah gives you 224 watts at 56v vs 457 watts at 80v.

Unfortunate fact of life is that there isn’t exactly an American made option for many things these days.

Glynn863I have a Greenworks 60V chainsaw with 16" bar. Got it on fleabay for a good price. It works well enough for trimming crepe myrtles and other small trees / branches. I also have a Greenworks 60V blower, so I have 2 batteries to alternate using. Just bought a Greenworks 60V edger as well.
