She passed from COVID less than a month ago. At least my Grandparents are reunited now. They loved each other so much. And, she was never the same after he passed. Quite an honor to have them both buried at Arlington. The family was told they could take a 10 minute service slot with a max of 10 family members last Tues or wait until God knows when for a regular service thanks to COVID. So we took it and made the best of it. It was wild to see the The Old Guard in masks as they performed their job. We were the only people in the entire cemetery that day aside from the workers. She will be greatly missed. She was a tough old nurse who loved her family. She had a great laugh, loved to travel, rescue animals, and adored Sanibel Island which was her home of many years. She was the reason I became a nurse. I am certain my Grandparents are laughing and loving it up in heaven now. If it won't matter in 5 years don't give it more than 5 minutes.

God bless Tara. Glad that Gran has gone home. "I vowed to myself to fight against evil more completely and more wholeheartedly than I ever did before. . . . That’s the only way to pay back part of that vast debt, to live up to and try to fulfill that tremendous obligation." As somber an event this was, it was also interesting to me magnified by the pics. Hope you have solace and comfort. ========================================== Just my 2¢ ____________________________ Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right ♫♫♫

Thank you. We are all managing. The fact that she had a very full life and will rejoin the love of hers is a comfort. It was surreal at ANC. The pics can’t even begin to depict the silence and emptiness of us being the only 10 there. If it won't matter in 5 years don't give it more than 5 minutes.

Sorry for your loss but, at the same time, quite an honor for earning the privilege of being buried at Arlington. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.
