Crazy story, not just the hotel fire but also something else..

The Daeyeonggak Hotel fire in S. Korea on Christmas 1971 remains the dealiest hotel fire in history. 164 people dies, and 63 were injured. People jumping and falling to their deaths is hard to watch. It reminds you of 9/11. Don't watch that part, if it will bug you. Fast forward to 1:43 is what I want you guys to see. I also did a screenshot.

Mrs Q is still in S. Korea visiting her family. She was browsing YT last night, and while watching this news story from back then, she spotted her dad and mom right there. So, she texted me the screenshot, and I also immediately recognized her Dad. The lady behind him is her mom. And, that little girl he was holding is the future Mrs Q. Pretty crazy just browsing YT and find yourself on TV news 51 years prior, being part of history. Eek

Wow that's amazing seeing your wife as a child with her parents there.

No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

Time capsule thread. Haven't thought of this fire in decades.

My father's best friend, his best man, died in that fire while on a business trip, I remember watching it on the news with my parents. I vaguely remember adults coming in and out of the house, some crying, speaking in hushed tones while the kids were in another room. My dad took care of the widow and kids for a number of years, helping out, she never remarried.
