911BossNew Fenix light, PD40R
Picked up another light, arrive yesterday. Starting to think I might have a problem. Took advantage of the 25% off for the Cerakote model.
Built in recharging via USB-C, rotary collar to select four brightness settings plus strobe. Seriously bright with a nice thrown and center spot.

PerceptionSeems like a pretty sweet light, I love the rotary control and cerakote. I just wish Fenix would go back to a lower low. I haven't bought any of their
recent lights because their mode spacing kills me.
"The people hate the lizards and the lizards rule the people."
"Odd," said Arthur, "I thought you said it was a democracy."
"I did," said Ford, "it is."
"So," said Arthur, hoping he wasn't sounding ridiculously obtuse, "why don't the people get rid of the lizards?"
"It honestly doesn't occur to them. They've all got the vote, so they all pretty much assume that the government they've voted in more or less approximates the government they want."
"You mean they actually vote for the lizards."
"Oh yes," said Ford with a shrug, "of course."
"But," said Arthur, going for the big one again, "why?"
"Because if they didn't vote for a lizard, then the wrong lizard might get in." December 09, 2020, 11:09 AM
old rugged crossNice, I have an LD15R on the way. What did that cost you?

Jimbo54They aren't showing the Cerakote option on their website. Pretty pricey.

FYI that's only $25 more than my wholesale price.

KLGUYI’ve had mine for a couple of weeks now, I really like it, but I had to put some grip tape on the rotary switch, just too slick to turn it on one handed or with work gloves.
Maybe the ceracoted option is better.

AeteoclesNo tail switch or momentary activation (let alone not having a forward clicky tactical switch). Strange that they would make a light in the PD series like that.

lastmanstandingI'm certain it's a very nice light but I'm very content with the fact that I have been able to avoid the paying several hundred dollars for a flashlight bug. My wallet has difficulty keeping up with the expensive habits I've already fallen prey to.

Hmm, seems to be more than one Fenix website, here is where I go:
https://www.fenix-store.com/Link for the Gadsden cerakote:
https://www.fenix-store.com/fe...read-on-me-cerakote/Standard PD40R v2.0 is $120, cerakote adds $80. Not sure if the 25% discount is still going.

Actually, it is $120 for a 300 lumen light and $80 for the cerakote job. At the time I purchased, they were running 20% off most items and 25% off for the cerakote models (there are more than just the DTOM)

cgodeI have a flashlight problem too....I’ve had this new one for a couple weeks as well and do like it...it’s really bright!
To facilitate one handed operation with the rotating switch I put a zip-tie around it and cut it off short....the hub the tie feeds through provides a perfect switch easily operated one handed....the zip tie doesn’t interfere with the provided holster either.
I would have liked it with a tail switch...figure they should have the bezel set the brightness mode you want and use a tail switch for on/off...maybe a future improvement?

P-220Another problem child here.
Your PD40R looks great!
I bought a PD40R and then just purchased a E35 V3.0. It is an amazing pkg, 3000 lumens in a light slightly larger than a roll of Life Savers.

1s1kI wish more companies would use the rotary with a momentary at the back.
Once you get a really good flashlight you can't go back to what you had or you will either think something is wrong with it or it will feel useless when you know what you are missing out on.
If you don't want to spend $100 on a flashlight I get it but definitely don't borrow one to use even for a minute.

P210The cheap Coast ones from Home Depot work great for a while but die within a couple years and never at good times so I just ordered one of these. I passed on Cerakote but went with one spare battery, and with new member discount it was $116 with free shipping. Not bad if it’s going to significantly outlast the Coast ones. Thanks for the tio.
