Mac Johnson, 50, of Newberry, Florida, pled guilty yesterday afternoon to tax fraud, wire fraud, structuring financial transactions to evade reporting requirements, and harboring undocumented aliens.

Johnson, who owns roofing, tree service, and dumpster businesses, devised a scheme to conceal the amount of wages earned by his undocumented alien employees to avoid paying more than $1.7 million in federal income, Medicare, and social security taxes, as well as more than $1 million in Florida worker’s compensation premiums.

Johnson concealed the wages from the State of Florida by inaccurately and incompletely identifying all employees, representing that lower wages were paid than the true amounts, and paying by cash or a non-payroll check in amounts of less than $10,000 to avoid reporting requirements.

The investigators discovered that undocumented alien employees on work sites did not speak English or have any personal identification. Their names did not match the names on the insurance policy, and their files contained employment eligibility verification forms that did not match their handwriting.

Johnson also provided transportation to the work sites and rented residences he owned to the undocumented workers for which he deducted money from their pay.

The potential penalties are:
Failure to collect and pay over taxes: a maximum term of 5 years in federal prison;
Wire fraud: a maximum of 20 years;
Structuring: a maximum of 10 years; and
Harboring undocumented aliens: a maximum of 10 years.

The sentencing hearing is scheduled for May 29 at 2:00 p.m. at the United States Courthouse in Gainesville.

Too bad he doesn't live in CA. He would get a medal, probably be elected into high public office. Roll Eyes

Mac Johnson is a piece of shit and I hope he goes to prison for a long time.

Donald Trump is not a politician, he is a leader, politicians are a dime a dozen, leaders are priceless.

We have some of them around here in S&N Communications which is a subcontractor for Verizon. They didn't pay the workers, etc. and were taken to Court.

I had S&N trash my property at two places and laid the cable outside the easement.

In one incident, they laid the cable across my property to the neighbors house. Instead of going down the road and up their driveway, they went diagonal up through the woods which was a distance of about 700 feet.

I was about to cut the cable at the box on my property and tie it to the hitch on my truck and pull it out. Big Grin I decided to check first and met the worker in the woods. He acted like there was an easement to the neighbors house. If I had come along several days later, it would have been buried.

I'll bet it's not as rare as would seem. Something as simple as paying workers cash under the table is fairly common. Ought to hang his ass, after he pays all that's owed of course.

I understand he was not paying the taxes that were due, but we should cut him a break because he was forced to hire those illegals to do "jobs Americans won't do!" Mad

This investigation needs to be expanded to see if the illegals were also receiving any gov't benefits.
