C’mon, air it out. I’ll start!

The car is due for its 80k-mile service. I called the shop, made an appointment, and set out Sunday to drop it off. The appointment isn’t til Wednesday, but I knew a friend would be driving by the shop yesterday so I made a plan to meet him there and get a ride back. Perfect!

This evening it hit me: “Doo-mahs!! The appointment is NEXT Wednesday.”

Mad

Nobody to blame but me… Razz

The week is young. Check in with me Friday and I'll have something to brag about.

I did purchase a gas station piece of pizza after landing in west Texas today. No repercussions yet.

Only one?

Backed over my metal fire pit with the UTV while pulling my boat out on Sunday.

Forgot to take the solar charger out of the boat before pulling it along the road to the slip on Monday. Who knows where it went?

Why nothing, of course!

Like the fellow on here who has a wife who never argues, and accommodates his every whim, I never make mistakes.

Certainly I did not tell an employee to do something I “knew” he wouldn’t understand, and which resulted in thousands of dollars in damage.

I never do anything like that.

Quite possibly leaving the key to the SeaDoo in Florida. I brought the SeaDoo up to Michigan in mid-May, but the key was not in the glove box. I figured no problem, I’ll look for it when I get back to Florida and bring it up when I come up the first week of June.

Completely forgot to look for it. I’m hoping I left it clipped to my life jacket and that my life jacket is in the SeaDoo’s front storage compartment. I’ll know for sure in 185 miles and 3 hours if my wife doesn’t keep making me stop for junk like where we are now, the Birch Run Outlets.

Update: Glad I didn’t spend a lot of time looking for the key in Florida. It was in the glove box after all. Before I towed it up here, I had asked my son to see if the key was in the glove box and he said it was not. I have a dozen stories that tell me I should know better, but I keep hoping anyway. For exampe, there was the time he was staring at the ceiling, so I asked him what he was doing. He said he was looking for his shoes.

I fixed some stupid yesterday. I was home sick and I don't know how to rest. Last summer I replaced a walkway with river stone and pavers. I didn't rinse the rocks before I put them down. There was enough sediment on them to provide an inch of soil for weeds to grow in. I discovered this when the walkway started being completely filled with weeds. I started moving rocks and discovered the huge amount of dirt/sediment under the rocks. I removed all the rock, scraped up as much dirt as possible. Then pressure washed the underlayment and rock.

Half a day of moving heavy rocks, lesson learned I guess.

Congratulations! I figure by waiting that long, you've built your empire the way you want it to be, and it's well-settled. Good for you.

Well, friends, maybe there's some redemption in my stupid.

I called the service manager this morning, and asked if perhaps he had a trophy or a crown set aside. He caught on quickly and said, "you're looking for an award for bringing your car in a week early, aren't you?" Big Grin

As it turns out, they had an opening in the schedule yesterday and my car was ready to be picked up today. So I hitched a ride after work and picked up the ol' dino-burner. I may have to get a second job now to cover the bill, but the "big maintenance" is done for another 20k miles!

Reminds me of a sticker I saw a while back: "Volkswagen. All the maintenance hassle and expense of an Audi, without the luxury." Razz

God bless America.

Self checkout at grocery store. Decide I need some pocket change so hit the "cash back" button for $40. Bag my stuff up and walk out......w/o the change. <facepalm>

Even more embarrassing....didn't even realize it til I was looking at my app the next day.

Well, Sunday I made a trip to the Urgent Care because I could hardly walk, sciatica pain again, a result of pulling the seats on my Jeep on Thursday. A friend offered to help me put in a Katzskin leather kit I bought last summer.

So we tackled those seats and Friday we’re going to do the rear seat. We’ll see how much I hurt on Saturday.
