Shocking, what a complete surprise. Roll Eyes

Here's the worthy cause. Roll Eyes

$60 worth of laundry detergent landed her back in jail in April. She was caught stealing the detergent in Pasadena, Calif. and planned to sell it to buy drugs
Shocking. I was just sure she'd come out of jail and become a community organizer.

She should have got 14 months for each of the 5 "supervised release" violations. Come on. 14 months total when she had an earlier life sentence commuted?

Presumably she got off dope when she was imprisoned, and upon her release decided it would be a good idea to start using it again.

Well, she was a little old to be an unemployed construction worker preparing for junior college and turning her life around. Old habits die hard.

Just as with virtually all of Obama's "pardons", they are based upon race and bullshit, and every last Goddamned one of these thugs shoud have stayed right where they were.

Disgusting behavior coming from someone who is supposed to represent ALL the people of this nation, the POTUS. How is America better or safer with this criminal TRASH back on the street????

Was this part of an elaborate plan by Texas to move this loser to California?

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

As they say, if you take people out of the slum, they will build a new slum around themselves. You must first take the slum out of the people, and they will then take themselves out of the slum.

Obama was the most racist admin in many many decades, which isn't surprising. What does surprise me (maybe it shouldn't) is how many liberals stared overt racism in the face, and either supported racism, or denied there was racism.

I wonder what percent of all pardons end up back in jail/prison within a year?

This person must be smoking crack too. She wasn't locked up because of addiction, she was locked up for failure to comply with the terms of her release and THEFT. If an alcoholic steals to buy liquor they should be jailed too. One can not get a get out of jail free card by being an addict.

quote:
“It will be easy for some to point a finger at Carol and justify their support of harsh mandatory sentences as a necessity to keep people locked up, when we feel Carol’s current situation is proof that we desperately need to overhaul our current drug policy that treats addiction as a criminal issue, rather than a medical issue,” the group said in a statement. “Imagine locking up an alcoholic for life simply because they suffer from a disease that science claims is often genetic.”

Do we lock up alcoholics "for their disease" or properly incarcerate them when they get behind the wheel of their car, drive while under the influence of intoxicants and crash? Do we rationalize their decision to drive to innocent victims or their survivors, and tell them that these addicts deserve our sympathy for their bad judgement? What ever happened to individual accountability? (That consideration was discarded by Obama and his administration out of political necessity.)

As opposed to Bill Clinton, whose pardons were based on donations.

Wait. That's too easy. The Clintons base everything on donations.

Come to SF, where this scum will be welcomed with open arms and a key to the city. SF also wants to close jails down, so this chronic offender has nothing to worry about.
