Hello, My girlfriend and I started a Etsy store for the holidays dealing in custom engraved LEGO items. I am not always the greatest at writing descriptions and was looking for some feedback. The store can be reached here: GiftaBrick Please let me know if anything seems confusing or unclear. Thank you. "Si vis pacem, para bellum" If you want peace, prepare for war.

Neat idea! Just browsing through, I saw this under the 1x8 brick: "Summary Want a unique gift for that LEGO fan in your life? Or maybe a you want to some fun giveaways for your next event?" Not sure what that second sentence means. ETA: Also noticed on the blue and red ball ornaments, under summary, this; "If you are looking for different colors than what we have listed, please let us know and we see what we can do." Probably should read "we will see". Other than that, looks good. Good luck with the business! Mike You can run, but you cannot hide. Looks good. Anything else you can engrave to sell? LEGO blocks with town names - use with model trains? Ditto with stores - Grocery, Hardware, School, Post Office, Town Hall, Jail? Then build structures with trains in the background- I have G scale trains, the LEGO stuff would work well with them. Avoid copyrighted, “brand” names ie “Lowe’s”

Thank you for the feedback. I modified the ball ornaments description per your feedback. The "giveaway" suggestion is if someone wanted bricks engraved with a company name, slogan or other info, to give away at a conference, trade show, meeting, etc. An example would be if you wanted to promote SigForum at the NRA annual meeting. You could hand out bricks like.... "Si vis pacem, para bellum" If you want peace, prepare for war.

I can engrave anything onto a LEGO brick. The tricks are finding text or images that look good in 2D and in a small size. Super detailed logos don't work well once we carve them onto a brick that is only 1/4" tall. Also, doing the paint fill with more than 1 color is a huge pain and we try to avoid doing it. The page for the Custom Personalized Engraved LEGO Bricks 1x8 has the description: "Want a unique gift for that LEGO fan in your life? Or maybe a you want to some fun giveaways for your next event?" and thought it meant to say: "Want a unique gift for that LEGO fan in your life? Or maybe a you want to have some fun giveaways for your next event? Other than that it looks great. You may also consider adding military logos or individual letters on a 2x2 smooth plates. Kind of like Scrabble tiles. Ages ago, they had made Legos with headlights and a grille. You could start remaking something like those. Heck. Seems like imagination could run away with this. As for me, I'm building Lego battle tanks with my nephew for the weekend. Aligning the tracks, gears, and wheels should help with his spatial skills and problem solving. He knows most of the tanks by name now.

Warning: I used to be a software developer. “Add your personalization” says the maximum characters is 25. The personalization textbox allows you to enter up to 256 characters, as indicated by the counter just below the textbox. You can save a brick that has more than 25 characters to the shopping cart. If it is possible, I suggest restricting the personalization textbox to 25 characters max. If not, is in possible to check the number of characters entered before saving to the shopping cart? Is it possible to display a generated image of the custom brick so the user can see what his/her/its color combinations and personalized text will look like before purchasing? Edit to add: I have never created items for sale on Etsy, so I don't know what you can and can't do their interface.

Thank you, I revised the text. I can try to engrave anything a client wants. But most of the military logos are too detailed and too many colors for this type of application. They would be more suited for UV printing on the bricks. Hopefully that will be my next purchase for this venture. The scrabble board idea is interesting, just not sure how many people would be willing to shell out the $$ needed to make the project worth the work. That would take a lot of engraved tiles to accomplish. These are my first attempts at thinking of items to market. This has mostly been used for making name badges for the non profit LEGO expo we run each year and random things for friends. I hope you and your nephew have fun. Unfortunately, Etsy doesn't seem to allow for changing the amount of characters on the site. The suggestions/ideas you mentioned are some of the same features I would like to add to the site I am hoping to get built for this business. Thank you for the feedback, it is appreciated.
