This is one of the few Christmases since 2001 that I have had off. I have either worked, deployed or been on assignment.

It is kind of weird.
I am going to try and head down to Florida late next week to try and catch the OSU vs Clemson game with my dad.

This is the first year in since about 2001 that i have went Christmas toy shopping. I went to one place and bought everything.

Thanks to LE and the Medical Examiners Office the holidays are not as pleasant as they used to be.

My parents just let me know that they will not be able to travel up to spend Christmas with me. So I will probably do a repeat of last year and go on a nice day trip on the motorcycle. It's supposed to be a nice day. Heavily tipped my server when I stopped to eat.

I'm working Christmas Eve night (LE), off Christmas day, but wife (RN) working both days, so I'll be solo Christmas Day while she's sleeping.

Back to work on the 26th for my last 3 days before retirement.

It has been ever thus since 1974.

A big thanks to those of you who keep us safe while sugarplums go dancing.

Somebody is out there thinking of you.

Hi, .38supersig, I see you've resurrected this thread from last year.

My circumstances have not changed, but I have lost a few more cousins (none nearby). My closest kinfolk are 2 nephews in Phoenix, AZ--quite a distance away from Dallas.

I'll be in the Choir singing at both the 1800 and 2000 Christmas Eve services at my church--they are providing dinner (CFA) for those doing both services (there are 6 services that day/evening, but the Adult Choir only serves 2 of them).

My 84th birthday is tomorrow (Tuesday the 21st) and one of the Choir members is taking me to lunch.

So even though I live alone, I don't exist alone. I'll be on SF on Christmas Day to converse with any here who want to do that. This is a wonderful platform for sharing.

Merry Christmas to all.

I’d normally be pushing a Boeing. But not this year. And I’m coping with that…have many fond memories of Christmases past on the road with my work family.

Merry Christmas, y’all…

Thanks OP for a timely thread and thanks to those of you who selfishly work during this time for the rest of us. I, for one, truly appreciate your sacrifice.

I also want to express my appreciation for those serving in the military. One of my son’s has just been deployed downrange (where I do not know nor for how long) but he will miss his daughters first Christmas. This takes a special kind of commitment and I am truly grateful that we have raised such a fine young man.

May God bless you all.
