It only took them 35 years to get rid of this piece of garbage Edmund Zagorski was executed by electrocution near Nashville, Tennessee, Thursday night, after he refused to submit to the state’s lethal injection protocol for fear it would be excruciatingly painful. His challenge to Tennessee’s death penalty cocktail failed in October, and a second bid to save his life was rejected by the U.S. Supreme Court just moments before he was killed, over the dissent of Justice Sonia Sotomayor. “His eleventh-hour decision to accept the electric chair as a marginally less excruciating alternative does not undermine, as a matter of logic, his contention that both Tennessee’s lethal injection protocol and the electric chair are cruel and unusual in violation of the Eighth Amendment,” Sotomayor wrote. Zagorski was convicted and sentenced to die for the murders of John Dotson and Jimmy Porter. Zagorski met the pair in a remote wooded area to transact a major drug deal in 1983. He shot and stabbed both men, then fled the scene with a considerable sum of their money. https://dailycaller.com/2018/1...chair-supreme-court/

According to his lawyer, Zagorski broke his fingers as he strained against the straps. May be he should have tried the lethal injection _______________ NRA Life Member

She's a real piece of work, isn't she? Contempt is not quite enough word for how I feel about her. It's close, but it feels somehow inadequate.

This is why it costs more to execute someone than to give them a life sentence. We end up supporting them for 35 years before we send a kilowatt of juice through their flesh. One appeal in a speedy fashion, then a bullet behind the ear. Done, and in a dirt cheap fashion.
Everyone who has surgery gets the same medications used in lethal injection (short of a lethal dose of potassium). Otherwise...same medications. Why is it that every anesthesia provider in the country isn't being sued left and right for causing "excruciating pain"? It's horseshit, that's why. This message has been edited. 1. I wonder if he watched Law Abiding Citizen. 2. How is getting zorched by 500V (or whatever it is) DC less painful?

then they should have shot and stabbed him.... fuck it! if he did it and was convicted then hang his ass or shoot him it worked for centuries....WTF! 35 years is wayyyy too long to be feeding him. grrr! i guess it's personal, my Nana was killed by some fuck who has done everything to keep himself alive while in the system to include pleading to every charge to keep the death penalty off the table- the state of FLA (whom I do love) let the guy plead w/o consulting the family, who BTW was willing to risk him not getting the death penalty...waste of time and money..... Eh... my first thought was he requested the chair thinking he would get him another easy last minute reprieve because of the problems with the chair, it's designer, it's modifications and maintenance that have been brought up... Seems he thunk wrong. And his last meal... pickled pig knuckles and tails. Collecting dust.

Isn’t that the chair the guy that built it worried it wouldn’t work because he hasn’t been doing the maintenance on it for a decade? Happy it worked... Does the fact that the SCOTUS allowed an execution by electrocution mean that Ol' Sparky is a viable option for any state that wants to use it (even if the convict doesn't request it)?

Sometimes I think maybe the Russians had the right idea for criminal crime execution. There's no appeal...just a bullet behind the ear. Next? ********* "Some people are alive today because it's against the law to kill them".
