I've seen a few. While some have the DOT label sprayed on, many have a DOT sticker on them (not legal - HAS to be sprayed/embossed on the helmet). DOT certification is mostly left to the manufacturer. I wouldn't wear one.
The only advantage of wearing one of those instead of nothing is that it might hold more of your head contents in an accident.
Here is a link to what DOT certification requires:
I’ve never heard of a German style helmet called a Stalhelm
A Stahlhelm is the steel helmet (it means "steel helmet" in German) famously worn by World War II German soldiers, although it was introduced in the First World War. It continued to be used for decades after the war. Although materials and construction are different, its shape can still be seen today. And yes, I have seen helmets of this shape used by bikers.

I wore a WWII replica of a German helmet on a snowmobile in MI years ago, along with welding goggles. It was part of my resistance to many who had the fancy clothing on the trail or ski hill.
We were stopped at an intersection & some riders came by. My sister in law said they were freaking looking at me. At the time I was driving a lower speed John Deere machine, kinda retro also.
OBTW, an M-65 Army field jacket & Carhart bibs rounded out my outfit. This message has been edited. Last edited by: sourdough44,

I have one. Idon’t wear a helmet unless riding thru a state that requires them. All but one of the 5 helmets I have are actually a novelty helmet with a faux DOT sticker purchased at bike shows.
They don’t get worn anymore as new materials have produced thinner helmets that have less of a “dick head / mushroom head” look to them and that are actually legal in 50 states.
