Tai restaurants? Do they offer Tai Chi dish? Or, do I have to go to Chinese restaurants? Q

Most of the places near me returned to pre-covid form, with the exception of 2. 1 is a dumpling house that is still take out only... and with the demand the way it is, I don't see them going back to dine in (unfortunately for me). 2 was arguably the best suit down Chinese in the area, struggled under take out only, couldn't get staff back after restrictions were lifted and finally closed for good a few months back. All the other places I know have gone back to dine-in without issue. I shall respect you until you open your mouth, from that point on, you must earn it yourself.

Don't know of any back home on the west side of Fort Worth that are take-out only still. Up here in Wichita there is one Thai place that never opened the dining room back up. Though, to be fair, the place is tiny to begin with. I never saw it pre-Covid but I can't imagine there were more than four or five tables. Take-out only has allowed them to expand the tiny kitchen. Seems like they do a pretty brisk take-out business regardless. Plus they're in a crummy area, not somewhere you're likely to want to sit down for long. Success always occurs in private, and failure in full view. Complacency sucks…

Not too far from PASIG but our Asian food scene is hit or miss with dine in. The smaller places that only had a few tables (like 10ish) have remained carry out only, as far as I can tell. The larger joints or high end restaurants are pretty much back to dine in, although, strangely, it varied by the type of cuisine. The Vietnamese places seemed to come back to full service first. Chinese and Japanese places dawdled. There honestly aren't that many Thai places immediately around me. Many Indian restaurants (not Asian per se) also were way behind the curve in reopening. ---------------------------- Chuck Norris put the laughter in "manslaughter" Educating the youth of America, one declension at a time.

Thank you Very little |
The one Asian near us has never had a big walk in sit down business, imagine since it's nestled in a bedroom community of homes, the take out side will always be their main stay otherwise most around here are still very busy with sit down diners. Back in the late 80's lived in Foster City CA, there was a great asian restaurant, Rickshaw Corner, the ribs were fantastic, all they did was takeout, the restaurant sitting area had not been used in years, guess they figured they could make a lot more money without all the staff. Its still there today...

The chinese buffet in my town (MN) still is pick up only. At the start of Covid they installed an airlock that you pass your food and CC through. The sushi restaurant (mom and pop place) installed floor to ceiling plastic sheets in front of the counter/kitchen. Food is passed through a small window. They did start dine in again about 6 months ago, but the plastic sheet is still up. Our Mcdonalds was drive through only up until about 6 months ago - they did an extensive remodel during covid and I always commented how it seemed like a waste of money if they weren't going to reopen the dining room. I had heard that it was staffing issues at McDonalds. I reject your reality and substitute my own. --Adam Savage, MythBusters

Outside of Thailand, the best Thai restaurant was outside the Friendship Gate at Clark Philippines. Man and wife were both Thai and damn could they fix a table full. ______________________________ Stupid people are like glo-sticks. I want to shake the shit out of them till the light comes on
