I have noticed the term "Gun Violence" has been used over and over in the media recently.

At one time, it was called "gang violence" or other terms, but now everything with a gun is called "Gun Violence"

seems like a way to distance the shooter from the crime to me. A way to describe crimes in which nobody will ever see jail time.

strong leadership: this is NOT what that looks like.

I long for a day when politicians are obsolete. Regardless of political orientation if you always look at a tragedy from the perspective of how can I spin this for my own political gain you are a worthless piece of trash and shouldn’t have authority over anything.

Noticed that these types of reports are on the uptick, social media is picking them up from anywhere and making them daily national news.

Guess is that social media is behind the pump, like they are with the LBGTQ corporate logos, no Trump news, et al.

See it on social media, FB is picking up every shooting story and putting it on the daily news feed which wasn't that common in the past.
A social media platform scheme to inundate people with stories on shootings daily as part of their anti gun platform.

Likely its an attempt to over expose people to shootings, give the impression that it's a daily problem everywhere that needs to be addressed. Goal is turn the attitude of people against firearms, get them off the fence and on the side of anti-gunners from overexposure to the "gun shootings"

Instead of leaving the narrative and solution to the idiots on the left, why don't the republicans take the lead and enumerate the problems behind the violence (ie - it ain't the tool) and drive towards solutions. If it's obvious that democrat polices are part of the problem, all the better.

It's a democratic policy problem but it doesn't mean that republicans can't drive the root cause and solution. At least enumerate the causes so that it's not a 'gun' problem.

Love to see that happen, however, the provider of content to mainstream America is Social media, and it's owners are seriously leftist, and in tune with the hard core left agenda.

You'd need a paradigm shift in where people go on the web for social media content from FB/Twitter/Etc

FB isn't making the news up, but it's pushing it's agenda by driving news stories into peoples lives in order to influence decision making. It's what they do with everything they want to mainstream, products, politics, lifestyle choices.

Two problems with that approach. One, Repubs are generally cowards who are not going to fight for anything (other than their spot at the government trough). And second, the media, including social media, is so in the bag and on the liberal payroll, that even those Repub's willing to fight the good fight either get little to no attention, or are made out to be lunatic, racist, gun nuts. Until even a modicum of truth and fairness finds its way back into the media/social media, fighting the Dem's is increasingly difficult. The most encouraging aspect of all this is that the pool of gun owners in every demographic group has exploded over the past few years, making this a very dangerous topic for the Dem's if they want to remain in control in Washington.

The beautiful part of the Democrat party’s stance on guns is it is not in line with their voters. You cannot tell me only Republican voters are buying guns. It sucks that many Dem voters seem to want to get a gun before they are banned (they have no intention of giving it back) and have little to no regard for the next generations right to self defense. Also consider how often they ironically lecture everyone on caring about the future, rights and freedoms of the next generation.

This is ultimately a losing issue for the Dems unless they employ a constant media barrage of anti gun propaganda which in itself risks the Streisand Effect of only causing more first time gun owners.

It’s a beautiful problem the Dems have created for themselves. Big Grin
