Elderly friend I look after called and said her Keurig died and would I go get her a new one. Of course I did, and when I delivered it and set it up I said "I'm gonna take the dead one home and see if I can fix it." At the very least, I could scrounge some parts and a small pump.

It would power up, but none of the functions worked. I managed to get it apart with a dozen self-tapping screws, another dozen of those wretched spring loaded "Tab A in Slot B" connections, got the plastic off, got the hinged lid and control panel apart and found a bad connection to the control board from the micro-switch that gives it the "lid closed" signal. Reseated that and tried it nekkid and it worked. Experienced a minor miracle in getting it apart with breaking any tabs but other than that pretty straight-forward once I figured it out.

The REAL miracle is that I got it all back together, looks like I was never in there, still works and only two screws left over!

I'll stash it as a backup for mine.

Got it all back together and it runs like a watch. What are those two screws for? Oh, they're 'spare parts' for the watch!
