Seems so distant for so long and one day you wake up and you're there. Now what do you do?
Medicare is something to look forward to as you get older.
Congratulations for making it to this point. You may find you get a much different perspective on life from now on.

Indeed! Seems like yesterday I was counting down to retirement. Recently had 76 trombones blown to celebrate my 76th. Big Grin Happy birthday 6guns!

I'm fortunate with Medicare and Tricare For Life to cover my needs.

I am very thankful for Medicare. It was quite a decision to make, but all's going well with it so far. Started Oct 1 of course.

I get the having a different perspective, especially at this very unique time in our history. We are living in an incredible time. I took interest in the recent thread about how much do we need to retire. Lots of good insight.

Thank you and a Happy belated Birthday to you bald1!

Same here. I turned 65 in August and the deadline to sign up is getting closer. I'll be drawing SS in January, with the first payout Feb. 21st.

I started my SS last April. That too was a big decision, but glad I'm on it.

I filed for Medicare earlier this month, and got the card in the mail yesterday. Now waiting for my retirement plan to move me to a supplement plan from a full plan.

Happy Birthday!

I hit 65 in September, but I'm still working full time with benefits, so no medicare for me yet.

Thus the metric system did not really catch on in the States, unless you count the increasing popularity of the nine-millimeter bullet.

I opted for the high deductible plan G with the additional drug coverage which is required for what it's worth. My carrier is Mutual of Omaha.

Thank you!
