Abusing a perfectly good bandsaw! Not even making scroll cuts.

Damn! That made a hell of a mess. Makes me feel puny when I go to stain a wine barrel this week and think I really accomplished something.

I could never have a lathe. I wouldn’t get anything done, other than making stuff. I find them amazing and very intriguing. I really like watching the people turning roots and other oblong, off balance items. Super cool.

There’s a guy that builds cabinets on the forum, I don’t remember his name, but his cut is either “stop looking at my wife’s butt” or “purveyor of fine avatars”, I think… this guy posted some pics of the sad in his shop and it was incredible. I don’t really care for woodworking, but with a fully outfitted shop, it might be fun.

I have no ideas who build what, but the butt man would be XLT, and avatar guy would be Orguss.

I can't define a what a trash book looks like, but I know one when I see it - and I see it!

He didn't write a word of it. He sat with a ghost writer his agent and publisher picked out for him. They had an outline and asked him enough questions to fill it. Probably took a few hours-long sessions. If there's an audio version of this book in his own voice, that was probably the first time he read any of the manuscript.

There is something oddly hypnotic about working on, or watching someone work with a lathe.
