Yes, and be very thourogh when you clean them. It sucks to bite down on a pellet.

My beagle Georgia crossed the rainbow bridge on Wednesday, and I don’t think I’ll ever be the same.

But if you were closer, I could definitely hook you up. We have two litters of puppies in the rescue at the moment, along with some others who are just amazing dogs.

In Alaska we hunted them without dogs and we used .22LR and head shots, but we weren't shooting running rabbits, just stationary ones.

Thanks RichardC for posting this, it sure brought back great memories of rabbit hunting with my Dad and Grandpa. My Grandpa would always have one or two beagles when I grew up, and he did shoot one of his dogs accidentally and felt such remorse for the rest of his life. Both he and my Grandma grew up through the depression, and even in the 70’s if you put meat on the table, it was remembered and honored when it was dinner time. I remember another hunt when I was too young to carry a shotgun, I was with my dad and I spied the cottontail come to a complete stop under a huge cedar tree. For those without cedar trees, nothing really grows there so it was an open shot. I alert my dad who slowly turns, brings the 16ga up and KAWHOOM! Scared the shit out of the rabbit and me. No damage done to the rabbit. I laughed for a week on that one and tried to remind him every chance I got. Sure great memories.

We hunt for cottontails, when we quail hunt. (My niece and nephew love rabbit.)

We use 12 gauges loaded with 9 shot and sim high to fringe the head. Seems to work well.

I grew up with beagles when I was a child.

I never hunted.

They are sweet lovable dogs.

As I grew I chose bigger dogs, but still think they are a great breed
