Do you just use Tricare for your prescriptions or pay for the Medicare part D add on?

Medicare A&B plus Tricare for Life. Rx obtained free at local military base save a specialty prescription that is placed with Express Scripts. $12 charge for a 45 day supply FedEx'ed to my home.

If the base wasn't available I'd be getting my Rx at a local Tricare approved pharmacy. No Part D for me!

Recently picked up 3 Rx (antibiotics, pain meds, topical wash) after oral surgery at a local pharmacy. Paid less than $5. Didn't want to drive out to the base. Just wanted to get the Rx, go home, crawl into bed and get some sleep.

Prescription Drug Coverage with Medicare and Tricare for Life. Medicare requires you to have prescription drug coverage. Tricare for Life provides the required creditable drug coverage so you don't have to buy a Medicare Part D prescription drug plan. But you are free to buy a Part D plan if you want.

I'm like Bald1, we get 99% of our meds on base, occasionally at the nearby pharmacy. We have no need for Part D.

Part D would be useful if they pay for something Tricare for Life will not. Does that happen? Don't know.

Tricare for Life, fill most on the Air Force Base, some by Express Scripts. Occasionally at a local pharmacy for medication that won't be refilled.

Medicare A and B and Tricare for Life. I'm satisfied with medications cost under that coverage. Most come via Express Scripts and 90-day issue.
