If you're interested I'll check to be sure but I believe MPS in Morgantown is selling them for MSRP plus whatever freight Honda adds, plus $80 doc.

If you want out of the elements a full shield with windshield wiper is the way to go. Some of you might consider a half shield, that way you're looking just over it. You still get some breeze to your face but it stops the brunt of it. It'll be a little quieter than a full shield too. It's surprising how much noise reverberates in a UTV with a windshield and roof.

I appreciate the offer but I’m going to wait a few more months before I start seriously looking again. I’ve also got to learn the new WV laws regarding these things. I don’t plan on running it on the road but I can’t say it would never happen and I want to be legal. I suppose we could possibly try one of the Hatfield McCoy trails at some point but have my doubts. Thank you again for offering to check on those for me.

I am still leaning Honda. But the thing that has me giving more consideration to Kawaski and Polaris is that on the non deluxe Honda's they eliminated the paddle shifter. I definitely want that option. But do not like the deluxe price point on the Honda.

While I think Polaris has their issues. They do have some plus'.

The Kawaski is a solid machine and company.

Based on what you’ve told me, have you looked at a Kawasaki Teryx4?

Extremely heavy duty, can tow and plow easily since the motor is farther forward. Great warranty. Able to do serious terrain. The Honda’s are great on the farm, but can’t really do much trail work due to their lack of nuts and transmission.

I like the looks of the Pioneer 700 Dlx.
For the price I want more than their single cylinder effort.
I like the yamaha wolverine 850 TWIN. But 14,500 msrp.
The crazy prices have me looking for a used jeep. I can find nice
ones from 9,000 - 15,000.

Have you heard of Pickman? I like the Red XR.

ASAIK in WV the law is the ATV or UTV doesn't need to be licensed and you can ride them on any road without a center line. In addition up to 10 miles on or along the side of a lined road. With this you can connect dirt, gravel, and small paved roads, and ride most anywhere.
I believe to ride them farther on highways with lines the machine is required to be licensed and have turn signals and lights, maybe even insurance. I ride mine mostly on the trails on my property but I don't have mine licensed and run it anywhere I need to go including to town, LOL if you can call 20 houses a town.

Cross, Polaris is a nice running and riding machine but one thing to be aware of is the 4WD or more like AWD system they employ, it's "different" and I wasn't aware of how it worked until after I purchased one. It just didn't work well for me.

Don't be afraid to look at the Yamaha lineup. We have a 2019 X4, 850cc and love it. Put on over 2000 trouble free miles last summer. Pretty simple design. Not as many things to go wrong as some of the other brands. But there is nothing wrong with the Honda.

Agreed hvyhawler, I'm not that familiar with their UTV lineup but wouldn't hesitate to buy any Yamaha that was the size and had the features I wanted.

Thanks Jondaddy82, I am going to look at Kawaski. But not really considered a Teryx model. While I would call that more of a sport machine. Sounds like it is a solid unit. That type of machine is a bit appealing as it looks more comfortable. No box could be a deal breaker though. Not sure. I will look at them.

I have a 2020 Pioneer 700-4 and love it although it will tear up a gravel drive and road way. I purchased mine with the extended top and windshield.

It really pays to call around.
I was looking at the Pioneer 1000. The local dealership in North Mississippi wouldn't deal. I ended up driving 4 hours to the Honda Powersports Dealership in BrookHaven, MS and came home with a Black 2020 Pioneer 1000 Deluxe for a grand less than the local dealership was charging for the base model. I had to wait about 3 hours before someone could do that paperwork because they were so busy.
This is a volume dealership.

Kinda cool it has the same engine as the Africa Twin I owned.

My main consideration is reliability.
Buy the Honda.

The Pioneer 1000 is a nice machine, I like that it incorporates an open/locking rear differential and high/low range. The twin cylinder engine is a good one. When I was looking I felt 59-60" width was the absolute maximum width I could use because of my trails through the woods, I would have preferred even narrower, otherwise I probably would have considered a P1000.

so after looking more at the Kawasaki line up I am liking the Mule MX Pro model. It is a 700 class machine. Will do 45 mph. Has all the basic CVT/rear diff. lock/turf mode/4wd functions. Half doors. Good headlight setup. Dump bed. front guard. 25" tires. All std. All in the $10k price range. Plus a 4 year warranty.

Beats anything Polaris o Can-Am offers. I still like Honda better. But not $3-$6k better.

This might end up being a winner.

Good to know. I’ve got a good friend in Brookhaven so if I can’t find a local dealer willing to negotiate I may just have make a little road trip.

I really like mine, it rides great, is quieter than most, plenty fast, headlights are great and both sets have high/low beam, and has been trouble free.
The 4wd system is exactly how I like it, the seat is comfortable and will hold three adults hip to hip or two adults and a small person with ease, however there are only two seatbelts so it's classed as a two seater.
The only thing I would do different is not buy Kawasaki's 1/2 windshield because it's about 2" too low, rather I'd go with an aftermarket 1/2 shield.

Can you tell Sophie loves to ride?

Thanks ridewv, What year is yours?

Do you feel the ps is necessary or more of a luxury. While nice I have not felt it necessary.

I would need a top and probably full windshield. Does yours have a winch. I will need one a and a highway kit.

Yea, the pup does look happy and rtg. Smile

It is the first year, I believe I got it in 2018 and the first ones out were all the EPS LE versions which come with top and alloy wheels. Since then they now offer one w/o power steering. I don't know how easy or hard they steer w/o power steering? I guess you'd need to try to find a place that has one (preferably both versions) and drive them around the parking lot. Neither my small Mule 610 or the subsequent Polaris Ranger 500 had PS and I never felt they needed it.
I don't have a winch but Don, a neighbor, has an MX same as mine and he put a winch on his. He has an old Gator and had driven both my previous UTV's, when I first got this one I drove it over to show Don and let him drive it. Within a couple weeks he bought one then later had a winch put on.

Thanks ridewv, If I can find a good deal on one it may be the one. The Pioneer 700 is also high on the list. It will boil down to which one I feel like I can get the best deal on. I am sure the Mule will be cheaper. But the Honda would be my slight preference I am pretty sure. Either should be great though.

Good luck in your shopping. Between the two you've narrowed it down to (given that both are available given the covid run on UTV's) I would just get the one you really want if it's within $1,000 or so of the other.
