Not much on the shelves here, but you can absolutely buy a gun if you want one. The cheap shitty stuff and the more expensive stuff seems the easiest to get.

No one in my area is price gouging. I looked at a POF Rogue yesterday at a fair price and will probably go pick it up today.

had to pick up an AR lower I had order special a few months back... drove to the store twice and the line out front to get in was too long for the time I had available .... (limited number of people allowed in store per our governor..) but finally broke down on Monday and stood in line and made it in and did get the lower... their display stock looked okay and they seemed to have plenty of ammo but you were limited to one box per caliber.

In 20 years of being in the industry this is the worst state I have ever seen the supply chain to be in. Worse than Sandy Hook. I don't expect it to let up until after the election. If Trump loses, all bets are off.

It's bonkers. I was saying the Sandy Hook period was worse (in the supply and demand context) up until about a month ago. We've blown past that at this point and entered the highest demand period I'm aware of. At the earliest it's going to be next year before things start to slow down.

The Dems should be rejoicing, they made it almost impossible to buy a gun.

the shop I work in is struggling to get any used stuff in, customers are holding on to them,

new stuff is spotty,

one day plenty arrives, next delivery hardly any,

ammo, sell out every delivery in a day,

the shop I own, we (brother and I ) deal in estates,

we sell mostly on GB, and sales are very good, folks are still buying collectibles and most all teh ammo we put online,

most ammo we sell locally to repeat customers (common calibers)

oddly enough, the boxes of .30 luger I have are not moving,,,, Cool,,,

other shops in the area are similar, the 2 biggest stay packed with customers, and sell everything they get very quickly,

one is a pawn/outdoors/gun shop, I was told from a friend they actually called all the folks that had pawned guns (that were still on hold or whatever you call it) and the ones that did not want to return to pay and pick them up hey put out for sale, and sold them in a day (all common stuff)

generally speaking, any 9/380/45/40 cal handgun under $600 sells quickly, same for home defense shotguns,

We still have quite a few handguns in stock, ammo not so much. However, we can only replace 20% of what we are selling storewide. No end in sight.

My area has the main stream shops looking like mother hubbards cupboard for sure. I frequent a shop with indoor range and the display case that usually has 75 or so handguns had about 12. The used rack had only about 6 wheel guns and a couple 22’s
They did have about 6 glocks one 26 and the rest 42’s and 43’s
I stopped at a small somewhat out of the way shop that was well stocked. Prices were a bit crazy- basic range practice 9mm at $20 a box, 45 was just under 30!
I am waiting on delivery of a case of 45 ammo ( which seems to be easier to find than 9, and almost the same price these days.
Went ( reluctantly) to sportsmans warehouse and they had some 9 in stock at 12-13 dollars a box, going fast. I could count a maximum of about 15 boxes of various calibers of pistol ammo in the entire store. No 223. Few boxes of 7.62x39 and even the hunting caliber rifle ammo was thinned out.

Stopped in to the a local Academy last week, and was surprised at how bare they were, they had 5 maybe handguns in the cabinet. On the wall they had mostly over and unders and Cricket .22s...

Their ammo actually had some .22 CCI mini-mags but all most other calibers were bare other than .32 and some other calibers.

Going to be tough for gun shops to make it through this with rents every month and little to sell, I am pulling for them.

Four of the nine shops just quit answering the phones.

They are frustrated as all hell,
the Illinois shops more so.

Can't get what they order , can't sell the debris they have in stock ,because no foot traffic

The four shops that have employees in them are the dregs of retail,

I swear they flunked out of ticket taking school at the theatres.

Am taking c.w.p. classes soon,
At the fifth place that I tried.
Roll Eyes

If they are half as good as the Arizona classes,

I will be very suprised

Went to a lgs in Elizabethtown, PA last Friday because I heard they still had a Gen 5 Glock 34 in stock, and they did. Price hadn't gone up and they said it was still there because it came with only 3 10 shot magazines. They had very little of anything left. And the background check took over 2 hours. I stopped at the new Sportsman's Warehouse in Mechanicsburg on Monday and they had a good amount of pistols at normal prices. They had 9mm fmjs but you could only buy 2 boxes per day. Good thing I reload and stocked up on components.

I go to my shop at least weekly sometimes 2x a week to view the used rack. Stopped by yesterday to do a DROS on a 2nd Gen Colt SAA that came in on consignment. Since Saturday they got a shipment of browning buckmarks and various smith revolvers. Nothing else new. They worked their way through their waiting list of Glock want to buy folks. Was like 90 deep. They would text the number and tell them what they had and they had 1 hour to call back confirm and commit and put money down or they call next person. Some buyer said wait 2 weeks lol. A lot never replied or found one elsewhere. So they put out for sale a G26 and a walk in bought it within minutes while I was there chatting with the guys. They have a box of ammo available for each gun buyer but not much more for sale except odd rifle rounds.

Not a lot of demand for 7mmSTW or .25-20?

Really, a "NIB" Valmet ? I thought those guys stopped being made quite some time ago.
