His Royal Hiney |
That's what I'm going to go with. I bought a garbage disposal jack also to help with the installation though I'll hire a plumber to do it and it helps with the vibration after installation. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Yup, we haven't had a "KANG" thread in a long time. I went with the 1/2 horse and it would chew up an anvil. Zero problems over the 8-9 years it's been there. .....never marry a woman who is mean to your waitress.

Thank you Very little |
Curious how loud the Waste Kings are compared to the Insinkerator quiet series, in FL many home designs are open kitchen directly connected to the family/tv room. Nothing like having someone grinding up a Yak while you're trying to watch tv with a loud disposal....

It is very quiet, in my assessment. The unit the Waste King replaced was much louder... It may have been original to the house, or maybe not, I don't know. Honestly, I sometimes forget it is running if I get a little distracted in the kitchen. The running water hides the disposal sound pretty well. It is noticeably louder when someone (certainly not my wife) turns it on with one of paring knives in the drain.

The one I posted on the prior page, the 1/2hp model, was noticeably quieter than the 1/3hp Badger it replaced. We, too, had an open kitchen to the living room. Not sure if there's an appreciable volume difference between the 1/2 & 1 hp (half yak vs full yak, in Kang terms) models. The Enemy's gate is down.
