ONE inch of snow. Pennsylvania guys had barely enough snow for a snow ball fight.
In town, panic. Seemed like no one could drive safely. Roads closed. Emergency status.
In defense of the drivers then, cars were rear wheel drive and all season tires were unknown.
And, who in the hell owned tire chains.

Doesn't really qualify in Ohio either. Thankfully, though, that is about all we've been getting the last couple years. Isn't that nissan 4x4? Why u need chains at all?
Will say, if that is your place in the video you have a very nice home.
A Perpetual Disappointment...

Yup. Don't need video to know that ain't snow.
Light dusting, they wouldn't even send out plows for that. Maybe an inch there?
Suppose it's the end of the world round those parts.

Disclaimer: If you're not used to driving in snow, chains are a VERY good idea, if for no other reason than that they'll force you to drive slower. It snowed once when I was stationed in Pensacola and it was freakin' hilarious. The Escambia County Sheriff's Department was ready to haul me off to jail for Felony Dumbass until I showed them my Maine driver's license.
I've lived and driven in snow country (Michigan, Maine, Northern Japan, Iceland) for 50 years and I've NEVER used chains. I would if I had an urgent need to drive on ice but so far I've been lucky enough to be able to just stay the fuck home when ice is an issue.
Snow is just technique, experience and a decent set of all weather tires.
Be careful when following the masses. Sometimes the M is silent.

6" of snow is plenty enough for chains in the mountainous areas here.
However, watching Northerners try to drive without them in 1" of snow is hilarious.

yeah....if I put chains on here for that much snow they certainly would be laughing at me! Our work trucks don't get chained up until it's over 12 inches...and even then sometimes not

I don't see any mountains in your video. Can you point them out maybe?
All my driving on snow was back when I was 16-20, driving a RWD Olds Delta-88. It was more like driving a boat with marginal steering control, but we managed without chains somehow. I think we had an 8MM movie camera at the time, but it was too hard to use - so no video.
In fact I didn't know what chains were until I moved out west. And apparently I'm not the only one.
