The Metro cars in San Francisco went to computer automation to manage the passenger rail lines back in the turn of the century. During the months-long break-in period, the cars would panic stop while approaching stations where other Metro cars were transferring passengers. Even if it was moving at 10mph the sudden deceleration was jarring enough to cause me a good deal of physical discomfort.
