Need to replace my surefire e2e executive.
I have lost my approximately 17 year old Surefire e2e executive and have started to shop for a replacement. Need to look for a different model as the one I had is discontinued. For my purposes it was a perfect carry size and, with the addition of skateboard tape, had excellent purchase. It seemed bright enough.

Wow, have the prices gone up.

I use CR123 batteries in other things and would like to continue with that power source.

I’m not married to the brand but, boy that light was super dependable.

Looked at the Surefire E1B but 400 lumens seems a bit much.

Suggestions appreciated.

Useful lumens are a plus most of the time. Take a hard look at the SF Stiletto Pro. Not the regular one but the Pro. SF is the benchmark for lights and several people I know who work high risk felony apprehension for LAPD use it and are very complimentary. I've used one for range work and it packs flat in a pant pocket.

Btw, 400 lumens is on the low side for today's light. B

I was going to mention the same. 400 lumens should be your midrange setting. High or Turbo mode should be 1K+ lumens.

I will second the stiletto pro. Excellent battery life with a light to let you know battery status (green or red). Rechargeable instead of cr123. Push tail cap for full power. Button on side to toggle through lower outputs when max power is not needed. Thin profile when compared to a regular flashlight with big head. Extremely durable. Can be found at various online retailers at a good discount.

I have a spare E2E gathering dust if you want to keep to that form factor. It does have a Malkoff (LED) head on it that I purchased to modernize it.

I transitioned from a E2E to a Backup MV and am very happy, and would not go back. Mine is a 2 stage, so you do have the option of lower output. The Maxvision head is a real plus also.

I’ve been pleased with mine in everything from outdoor rural use to the typical lost keys in the theater scenario

I just feel for your losing a 17 year old flashlight. When you have something you like, it works, you sure hate to lose it that way.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. A lot of the newer SureFire lights have two settings, high and low at least one has 3 settings. My current SureFire, the EDCL2-T, has two settings, 1,200 lumens high and 5 lumens low so it's pretty versatile.

Silent, I have an extra E2E that I would be happy to send you. Consider it as your light “found” or just as a Karma.

I transitioned my old one to the Surefire EDCL1-T. 500 lumens, one cr123, good small size. I love it.

Malkoff Devices. I switched from Surefire for my EDC and am very happy.

Riley,
Thanks so much for the very generous offer. I am going to ponder if this old dog should learn to like the additional lumens offered by the newer lights. BTW, I looked up used e2e lights on eBay. yikes!

Thanks all for the advice. I will sample the suggestions made when in town next.
