Except when I travel, I don’t carry a wallet anymore. My Ridge wallet is now for backup only.

I have all my credit and debit cards on my iPhone Wallet app and can pay for anything I need around town. I keep a stash of cash on hand I can grab as needed and keep some in my truck for emergencies.

My DL and insurance card are kept in my iPhone case, so as long as I have my phone and keys I’m good to go.

I can access my medical cards via an app on my phone so I’m good there.

My right front pocket is now free for pocket carry (without the Ridge wallet there) if I choose to, and I don’t have to keep up with a wallet.

I’ve always resisted the temptation to go all in on the technology thing but find it all so convenient. Kind of downsizing my EDC I guess.

Anyone else take the plunge? Maybe I’m just late to the game but I’m old.

Actually you do carry a wallet, only it's electronic LOL. Several states are going to digital ID, imagine it will eventually be the norm, getting a physical ID will go the way of the dial hard wired phone.

At that point cash will be gone as well, digital currency is the future.

Cash is still king. I carry something like this with credit cards, drivers license and medical device cards slid in pocket. Currency in the clip.

I won’t hand a cop my phone so he/she can see my DL.

As for giving up my wallet, not much difference tapping to pay with a card vs my phone.

Fuck digital currency- even though I use credit and debit a lot. I still want the option to pay cash if I want to.

I pretty much do this with my cash, a credit card and DL with a wide rubber band to secure the bundle. Haven't had a wallet in 50 years.

I hesitate to say never, but I’m in a similar camp.

I have insurance cards in the apple wallet and that annoys me, still keep on paper on in the real wallet. No interest in storing credit cards with apple.

I don't own a smartphone, but I own a leather wallet. This setup has worked perfectly for decades. Cool

Laws vary state-to-state, but in VA, you must have your Govt. issued CHP (Concealed Handgun Permit) on your person when you carry concealed. A digital/photo representation is not sufficient. You also have to have a picture ID, but I don't know whether a facsimile is good enough.

Nope. I don't want all that information on my phone.
I carry my DL/Real ID, CCP, one credit card and a little cash. I don't always have my phone with me.

Keeping all valuables in one area has more risk than diversifying.
Keeping everything on your phone only because it's cool is not smart.
I would also add not to haul excessive valuables for no reason might not be smart either.
Not a fan of app this or app that as well.

I still keep a Polaroid style photo of my kids in my wallet. There's something I just like about holding an actual photograph in my hand as opposed to scrolling through literally thousands of digital pics on my phone. That one Polaroid is tangible. It's real. It's a little, insignificant thing, but those little things help keep me grounded. I guess one doesn't need a wallet for that, but along with everything else in it that I carry, the same principle applies.

I stopped carrying a wallet about 4 years ago. I use a card holder (8 cards, AmEx, Visa, Debit, Insurance, DL) with a built in money clip on the outside. Seems like a good setup for most. There is no way I can carry photos in it. If you do that, do not walk away from a wallet.

I'll get there one day. NM doesn't even accept digital copies of your car insurance card, so the entire world just isn't ready for no wallet yet.

Plus, too many of the good local restaurants still give out physical rewards stamp cards. Not going to give that up!
