CPD SIGA pretty good day for the Country, the Marines and my Family.
Tis a glorious day for our Country and for the Marine Corps.
At 1300 PST, 02 July 2026, my oldest Nephew will raise his right hand and be commissioned as a 2nd Lt in the United States Marines Corps.
He is carrying on the tradition of Military Service in my family. Uncles, Father- Army
May 1988, I stood on those yellow footsteps at MCRD Sand Diego, left Active Duty 1993, Reserves 1995
May 1996 my brother raised his right hand and was commissioned as a 2nd Lt in the Marine Corps. December 2025 he left as a Colonel.
Many on here question "This Generation". Yes, I too have some doubts. However, I am reminded that there are more than a few like my nephew and many others that have no problem serving our great country.
His journey has just begun, October he should be getting a slot for TBS (The Basic School), then (fingers crossed) on to IOC (Infantry Officers Course).
In a few hours, "Semper Fidelis" to 2nd Lt B. D.

CPD SIGThank you gentlemen!
He'll do just fine. He knows what's ahead of him, and he's got a good head on his shoulders.
He's got a lot, and I mean A LOT of experience and guidance already. He still has access to a wealth of knowledge and experience from the Corps.
(His dad, my lil bro, is a former Colonel, Infantry, USMC. The young Lt grew up around the life. He's also smart enough to pay attention to all of those people. even me.
