On the 16th of June I found a lump on the right side of my groin, pelvic side of the groin/thigh crease. No associated pain, soreness, swelling or redness. Firm when palpated. 27 June saw primary care Doc. Immediately ordered ultrasound. Ultrasound on the 28th with results that were "concerning" with the following report:
GP Doc immediately ordered CT w/contrast. CT on the 29th with the following report:
Tentative diagnosis after speaking to primary care GP on Friday the 29th is Malignant Lymphoma. Currently have an appointment with a urology surgeon on 17 July, but GP doc has a call in to him to get him to check the radiological early and see if that is the direction we need to go. GP doc wants urologist to see the radiology first because there is potential that a biopsy can agitate lymphoma and cause it to spread. I am assuming the following should be next step tests; PET-CT scan, CBC, & DNA profile for genetic markers. After that I'm in the knowledge darkness. I have no history of cancer, only skin cancer for family history. I do have a history of Graves Disease with associated Thyroid Eye Disease. After the holiday weekend I'll be working on an avenue for a second opinion for both diagnosis and path forward. I trust my current GP and his recommendations, but feel it is appropriate in this scenario to get 2nd opinion(s). What are some questions to ask and things to consider? _____________________________________________ Never use more than three words to say "I don't know"

There are so many types of Lymphoma and it's often difficult for the pathology to come back conclusive. If I were you, I would make sure when they remove this mass it goes to the best pathologist available. What I was told was that the pathology testing needed fresh cells so you don't have much chances at getting second or third opinions. I'm not a doctor though, only speaking from experience. I'd avoid any type of fine needle biopsy if at all possible. Messing with lymph nodes more than necessary can cause atypical lymphoid proliferation and lymphedema. I would also take a look at the rest of your health. Check your Vit D levels, basic lab tests, testosterone level, hair follicle toxin test, etc. I know it's hard, but try not to worry. Most lymphomas are highly treatable.

A second opinion can't hurt. Somehow, doctors ending up thinking I had lung cancer from a lump they found in my chest area. What started it was a breathing problem, I think, or coughing fits. I forget now. Anyways, several exploratory biopsies of different kinds and the oncologist was still wishy washy. "The biopsy turned out to not be malignant." "So I don't have lung cancer?" "Wellll, I can't say that." "So I do have lung cancer?" "well..." It seemed like he just wanted me to check in every six months for the residual income stream. I stopped going after that last consult after the last biopsy. "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." You don't say how old you are so have you had a recent PSA test done? Your prostate is in that general area. I agree with those that say cut it out. .....never marry a woman who is mean to your waitress.

It has been removed and sent to pathology. Parts were entwined in the spermatic cord. I am no longer symmetrical. Currently ice packing & relaxing for a number of days. I should have pathology results next week. _____________________________________________ Never use more than three words to say "I don't know"
