Why? I didn't like it before, but twelve years of this nonsense sealed the deal:
https://www.timeanddate.com/sun/usa/seattle?month=6I live in the greater Phoenix area now, and it's about an hour and a half earlier, so it's not
as bad. Baltimore shows it at 8:30ish for the same timeframe so you're splitting the difference somewhat. I'm sorry, but sunset at ten after nine at night and twilight conditions past ten at night is fucking stupid and yes, I have disdain for that. No, you're not going to sell me on it being a good idea. Yeah, Seattle is a bit of an outlier there at such a high latitude, but whatever. Standard time feels a lot more "correct" to me. Hell, we could even split the difference and make it permanent.
Some people really love sunlight for all their waking hours. I don't have to have that.

92fstechI love the long sunlit evenings in the summer...I can be out fishing on the boat until 10 and still be able to see when I have to pull it out at the boat launch. Our gun club also prohibits shooting after sundown on the outdoor ranges, and since I don't get off work until 6pm, no shooting after work in the winter. Summertime, I still get 3-4 hours.

randymanWord has it that Biden was pushing to eliminated DST. He said removing that extra hour of sunlight would help to slow global warming.
