Hi all, Just wanted to discuss what happened last night to my 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee and get your thoughts. On my way home from work I stopped to get gas. Filled up and started up my Jeep. As soon as I started driving through the parking lot, I noticed the vehicle's handling to be very different, not as stable, and I thought I heard some subtle creaking/pinging in the drive shaft area. The way it handled was a bit concerning. Then the SERV 4WD and Electronic Stability Control (traction control) OFF lights immediately came on. I got out and inspected the exterior/underneath the car, and didn't see anything obvious. So I slowly drive home, only about a mile away. The car handled very differently with these lights on, again less stable and less sure-footed, maybe a bit sluggish. So I called the dealership to schedule an appointment, which isn't until Wednesday. They said it should be ok to drive in this condition. So last night I Googled these symptoms and of course the root causes are all over the place, many different possible causes. It can be intermittent too. I started it up and drove it a bit this morning and the problem is now gone. The lights are off and the vehicle handles completely normally. I'm curious if any other Jeep owners may have experienced this and what your thoughts are. I'm definitely taking it to the dealer on Wednesday to see what's up. I've not had any other issues with this vehicle until now. Thanks for any insights you may have. Chris

Never miss an opportunity to STFU |
In spite of my warnings, my daughter in law bought a Jeep. The whole dashboard lights up intermittently with warning lights. The dealer told her it was the power steering- really! It sounds like a loose harness connection to me. Please keep us posted. Never be more than one step away from your sword-Old Greek Wisdom
