konata88AV / EDR for M1 based Mac?
Hi,
Still learning about Mac's. On Windows, I would just generally use the OS Defender for antivirus and endpoint threat / response protection. Not sure if it was sufficient, but it seemed to be the least intrusive while providing good protection levels (again, not sure about reality, at least perception).
For the new M1 based Mac, what is generally recommended for AV/EDR protection? Personal use, not a business.
Also, any recommendations for Ubuntu 20.x running on an old CPU laptop (about 8 years old)?

mrbill345I've been using Intego anti-virus products & they've been working fine under Rosetta 2 on my M1 Mini. If you act quickly (ends in about 5 hrs - has been on sale for awhile), the
Intego Mac Premium X9 Bundle is on sale for ~$20/yr (up to a 3 yr subscription). This deal comes up every so often. I've got about 18 months left on my current subscription.
Here's a lnk that expires in ~9 hrs (~ 3 am EST)January 19, 2021, 05:46 PM
konata88Thanks! I’ll check it out.

Lefty SigClamXAV for a very long time. Pretty much the standard for MacOSX and now MacOS11.

sigcrazy7I switched to Mac in 1998 and have never used any anti virus software. I’d bet on an M1 Mac it’s even less necessary.
