Please stop with the "RIP" stuff, guys. It is so overused, it has become meaningless, truly meaningless.

I've asked this before, but it's been a while. Don't be a parrot. Speak from the heart.

This was the first thing I read when I climbed out of bed this morning. Very sad news. I was a big Toby Keith fan! He will be missed.

Such a loss, Lord, why do the good die young?

I pray for grace upon his family.

It's a shame he was only 62.
My wife and I saw him in concert back in 2008 in Tampa at the venue for the fair grounds. We were lucky enough to have good seating with a really good view.
He put on a great show and we had a great time at the concert.
He had some great songs and will be sorely missed.

Stomach cancer, ouch. Glad he isn't suffering with that agony anymore.

I am not a huge country music fan, but this song is a favorite of mine. It was when I was drinking, it still is though I haven't drank in a goodly while now, it probably always will be a favorite.

Dar185 posted the song I've been avoiding listening to all day. Sad to see Toby Keith go. He left behind a great body of work.

I always got a chuckle out of this one.

He was my gateway into country music. Back in 2004 I was an east coast kid camping in Rocky Mountain National Forest in CO. with my in-laws for the week of the 4th. The only music on the radio was country and I wasn't a fan. I was a classic rock guy. Then Courtesy of the Red White & Blue came on and I was blown away. I started paying attention after that and became a huge fan.

I never really cared for his music, but I'm sorry he and his family have been put through this.

I also hate to see that bastard (cancer) score another win.

R.I.P sir. I had the pleasure of seeing him shortly after 911 at a Ford Motor Company bash at their headquarters in Dearborn Mi, with their large population of Muslims, he was off the hook, Ford realized they royally fucked up after the show, probably before the show was even done with the first act but got damn did he get the crowd wound up. Tobin didn’t give two fucks about the Muslim ford employees in attendance of even about Ford. He used to be a Ford truck spokesman I do believe and it came to a halt after that. I doubt he really cared as his career was really taking off at that time. Always had the utmost respect for him

Celebrity deaths don’t really bother me but I will miss Toby Keith. I worked on a couple tours of his 15 or so years ago and he was a great guy who took care of his crew and loved to hang out with us. He was a solid entertainer and a good person. And he was a hard-fouling bastard on the basketball court Big Grin

I’ll miss him.

I will miss him, but his music will live on.

We attended one of his concerts at Riverbend. It was a good time for sure.
