What animal is borrowing in my yard?
I found some holes in my lawn yesterday. I live in NE Ohio.

Any suggestions as to what animal is borrowing in my yard and how can I deal with them.

Sigforum's favorite burrowing animal solution is:

Tons of possibilities. I’ve seen holes like that with chipmunks, voles, snakes, and (obviously not this case) yellowjackets.

Kinda looks like mole crickets to me. Turf insecticide usually puts the kibosh to these.

That is a honey badger lair.

Be very, very careful.

The first thought that comes to mind is you need to watch Caddy Shack. Lots options in that movie.

I've stopped counting.

Probably voles. One side of my yard is eat up with them and there is very little you can do. They especially love irrigated turf because it is easy to burrow in. My yard looks like Tremors sometimes and it spongy to walk on because they've burrowed so much.

I apologize for earlier as I answered for burrowing animals. For borrowing animals, it really depends on loan status:
  • New borrower - tell them the vig, show them the Sig, and say "bitch better have my money!"
  • Up to date on payments - collect money and remind them about next week with "bitch better have my money!"
  • For slightly delinquent on payments, we Walker Texas Ranger them.

  • For very delinquent on payments, we use the forum's PM feature and make dinner reservations Wink

  • Ego is the anesthesia that deadens the pain of stupidity

Yeah, in the midwest that would be an Armadillo. We see them most often in late summer, early fall around here. They are digging for grubs and worms and can ruin your lawn in just a few days.

They are relentless and will tell their buddies about the new diner they found. A .410 is your friend. You pretty much have to kill them.
